This is what happens when you have a downpipe that is too small and you get a lot of high EGTs and backpressure.

He said it had been glowing red for some time now.
My guess is backpressure, the downpipe is just too small for the boost he is trying to run.
FYI i dont remember it glowing red when we dynoed it a month ago either.
might have had more light on it. i know when i see red hot exhaust mani's and whatnot its drak outside or not in the best of light.
