I was in the Navy for 5 years and I served in Desert Storm on board the Uss United States (Aircraft Carrier) for 18months. You think we enjoy being away from our friends and family?

So because there are people that have to receive the unfortunate news that their loved one has died in this war, that means we aren't allowed to have touching, happy moments? With all the negativity surrounding this, we're not allowed to see something that could put a smile on our faces that doesn't have to do with a capture or a hanging?

All the hundreds of newscasts that are all over all every news channel every day that are "devoted" to showing the heartache and pain that goes on and one sneaks it's way in to make us smile, and that's "kinda dumb?" You're right in the misunderstanding. Later, QD.
