It looks like maybe he had someway to have it already tied bc his pant leg never comes up, and all the shaking was jus the slight of hand, when he wanted it to appear to be tied, he just pulls up the string thru his pant leg using his hand or some kinda of elastic release or anything thing that draws the fake stringup and the real knot which was always there, appears.. At first glance it looks like, it could jus be camera magic and a clip played in reverse while he is "tieing" it..
