Oh, I'll even do a used car..

Supra Turbo.. KBB is around 13K last time i checked.. yet people will pay about 26K+ for a stock one.. Suplly and demand, Inflation, whatever.. It's just part of Economics.

If you want something, you'll pay for it.

    Blue Book Private Party Value
Private Party Value is what a buyer can expect to pay when buying a used car from a private party. The Private Party Value assumes the vehicle is sold "As Is" and carries no warranty (other than the continuing factory warranty). The final sale price may vary depending on the vehicle's actual condition and local market conditions. This value may also be used to derive Fair Market Value for insurance and vehicle donation purposes.
Vehicle Condition Ratings Check Vehicle Title History Excellent
    $3,155

"Excellent" condition means that the vehicle looks new, is in excellent mechanical condition and needs no reconditioning. This vehicle has never had any paint or body work and is free of rust. The vehicle has a clean title history and will pass a smog and safety inspection. The engine compartment is clean, with no fluid leaks and is free of any wear or visible defects. The vehicle also has complete and verifiable service records. Less than 5% of all used vehicles fall into this category.
    Good
    $2,780

"Good" condition means that the vehicle is free of any major defects. This vehicle has a clean title history, the paint, body and interior have only minor (if any) blemishes, and there are no major mechanical problems. There should be little or no rust on this vehicle. The tires match and have substantial tread wear left. A "good" vehicle will need some reconditioning to be sold at retail. Most consumer owned vehicles fall into this category.
    Fair
    $2,350

"Fair" condition means that the vehicle has some mechanical or cosmetic defects and needs servicing but is still in reasonable running condition. This vehicle has a clean title history, the paint, body and/or interior need work performed by a professional. The tires may need to be replaced. There may be some repairable rust

I offered him 3500 and I am not scared to tell any1. MY offer was 3500. So beat that and you get the car... I already have an EG (Si) so I know what they are worth. I also have 2 EFs (both SIs). I will not give more than that, but will gladly pay 3500 for 1. If some1 tops that, congrats. I am NOT a hater, and not tryna lower the cost b/c my pockets are nervous... the simple fact is, sight-unseen, it's worth a TAD bit less than 3500 in the real world.

And it's just a TW thread... just wait till he sells it for real. LOL. This is from Autotrader:

not an Si, but is swapped already... hmmmm

    http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...2&cardist=1517

swapped and mods.... hmm... NOT TO MENTION he says "OBO"

    http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...0&cardist=1770

    NON-SI / GSR SWAP / ALSO OBO

    http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...0&cardist=1864

True Si. Not perfect, but not a bad start.

    http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...=2&cardist=845

I will leave it at that. AND that is a place where you PAY to sell your car. If I hit HT or some other Honda forums where you can sell your car for free I can ASSURE you that I can back up what I say when I say 4k is steep. GL with the sale bro. LMK if you want to deal. I will post it on some other forums I know to get some interest for you.

2k is lowball... but at least you have a clue. LOL. No1 on Earth is getting my Si for 2500. I'd let it rot in the driveway before I let that happen. LOL. But you have got the right idea. +1

Yessir!! It is. The problem is people try to sell their sentimental value. LOL. I mean I know how it is to think "Man I have been through a lot w/ this car... got head right there...had a flat tire right there... alternator went out over here... etc. LOL. But you have to be able to understand the value of something when you are trying to sell, that's all I am saying. Not 1 time did I flame... I am just looking out for whoever wants to buy it. There are 16 year olds working at Taco Bell who have been saving all year to get 4k, and they WILL pay that for an Si b/c it's such an elusive dream for them (not really when you have the internet). That does NOT mean it was worth that... sure, the guy will be happy and wax it every other day and cruise around town thinkin he is the shit... LOL. But in the end he still got the bad end of a deal. BEST WISHES to the seller, and the buyer. I am done with the back and forth here.... I am just tryna spread some experience around. I guess it is not always welcome.

    anyways... i PM'd you.

i've got a 97 CX hatch i'd be willing to trade you.
not that this post matters, because with all this BS being posted you'll never see it unless you take 2 hours and read all the ranting going on.

ya 4k is 2 much sorry man but it isnt worth that much. i just look at it like this
the full rolling shell w/o the motor would go for 1500 max
the swap would go for 700 max
2200 to buy that car and put it 2gether. so u should add about 900 to the price since it is already done for u.
3100-3300 is where i would say. bc even though it is an SI model which is rare, it is STILL a 93! lets not forget that the 1995 civic coupe was selling for 13500 drive off when they were first relased in 1995. and this car is 14 years old.

Ok.. so.. 2200 is the shell and engine.. if you lucky you get a good shell.. how often a nice one come by? anyway.. let break it down.
    1500 shell
700 engine.. I assume that tranny is included.
    200 brake pads and rotors...
150 timing belt, plugs, tune up kits
    300 OEM clutch kit
    100 radiator
and if you want to add..
    250 A/C
so you looking at about 3200.... not to mention all of those sensors, etc, etc. ow and paint.. about 500 from maaco if you want your shell look nice. and did i say HX wheels with 85% azenis ???

btw it's not a coupe.. it's a hatch SI model... you're right 13500, but it was invoice.. and 15500 MSRP.. drive off about 16000....
anyway... LEt me know if anyone of you find an Si for 3200 I'll match the price

well a FULL swap would include the clutch.. and i dont no where u get those prices for rotors and pads.. lol 18.99 for each rotor and 16 bux for the fornt pads. i know bc i changed mine in my teg a month or so ago. but what ever you say man. if i remember correctly ur the same person who offered some one 3200 for a 95 gsr in better condition then this and i got on you for the low ball offer. but to each thier own. if you can find some one to pay 4k for a 14 year old car that has a d series go for it. more power to ya

i am a sucker for an SI and i dont think that 4k is too much for that car. Its in good shape and its hard to find. you could probably find a DX CX or VX for 1500 a shell but not an SI.

Just wait for at least a month before you drop the price, some one will get it at 4k. That car is clean as hell. I thought all the Si s had ABS, daytime running lights and power windows..?
The Si for you hatchback guys is like the EX-S for us coupe guys, it's worth the money to a honda enthusiast.
Anyways, good luck on the sale.

    Default civic

best thing if you are trying to sell a car.

It is called Autotrader. If you place the ad at the little huts it will go online also. Cant beat the $ to do it.

    Works every time.

If you want to hear from everybody and their mother put it on here make sure you also include the vin so it can get stolen.

I know everybody is looking for a deal but if you want to move a car in a timely fact, put it in the trader or craigslist.

I had my civic on here I know it was a shell but it did not sell, quick add in the paper boom gone.

This is just my 2 cents. I like when people put their cars on expecting to sell it, I get a good laugh out of all the flaming.

^^ sounds good, but there has been a LOT of cars sold on IA. FOR FREE. Just b/c yours didn't doesn't mean anything. I do agree that the 1st place I look to find gems (AFTER on here) is IA. The prob w/ that is the same as in this thread... there are swapped vehicles for cheaper than this one w/in driving distance. Pick your poison. The flaming is all in fun.

I'd say you are wrong. He would have gotten 3k for that all day.
