    Default 1998 ford ranger 4x4

    make: ford
    model: ranger
    year: 1998
    mileage: 112k
options: 4 wheel drive, 4 door, manual windows/locks cd player, step side.
mods: 30" yokahoma geolanders w/ decent tread, DARK windows, 2 12" subs
    engine: 4.0 v6
    VIN: 1ftzr15x6xpb19388

condition: this truck has a handfull of problems, none are serious.

Here's what I know about the truck.
-the front plastic valence is missing.
-the rear bumper has a dent in it.
-there is a dent in the driver side door.
-this truck has a TICK at idle and i have not found out whats causing it, truck is very powerful and doesnt burn oil or anything like that.
-5th gear in the tranny does not work, it acts like like neutral. i bought it like that and do not know what it needs.
-the jump seats in the rear arnt there.
-truck has small scratches and dings but nothing real serious besides the dent in the door.

truck has been my daily for a few months now and i love it, i'm just seeing what's out there. none of these problems have been serious enough for me to get around to fixing them.

that's all i know about the truck, trying to be as honest as possible because i know people dont like surprises.

PRICE: KBB says my truck is worth 5,000 in fair condition, that's what i want for it. want to trade for a good looking import, open to anything though.

truck has 2 12" subs in a box and a 1000watt amp threw in the back, not the cleanest install theyre just there because i never roll without some bump... if the deal is good enough they go with the truck.

cleans up better than it is in the pics.

    bump...

i let a mechanic look at it and he told me the knock i'm hearing is called marbling, searched around and this is pretty much what marbling is

    15226 - 4.0 OHB MARBLE NOISE

Some 1998-2000 Ranger/Explorer equipped with a 4.0L OHV engine may exhibit an engine noise that may be perceived by the customer as a "Diesel" type noise and is known as Marble Noise. Marble Noise is clearly heard when the vehicle is at idle, under 2000 RPM or under very light/no load. High mileage studies of the condition show no adverse effect to engine life or performance. Cleaning carbon from the combustion chamber will have no effect on the Marble Noise condition. Marble Noise is a characteristic noise of this engine and cannot be serviced with an engine exchange.
getting the tranny fixed next weekend, havnt decided what to do about the marbling
