I was considering a RX-7 except this fact makes me want to steer clear. Whish I could afford an LS1 swap though, then it would be fast, and reliable.

Just curious but what would the cost be to rebuild the motor ..? Is there a chance of it happening again?

The info and cost is posted a few posts above. Rotaries can take plenty abuse, but as soon as something goes wrong, they don't like.... IE. radiator cracks, car rapidly overheats, motor needs a rebuild. In proper running conditions rotaries are great engines, but they just need to be in their "safe zone" so-to-speak. Get me?
