    I've just always been told that aftermarket intakes on these cars don't help and can even be detrimental. Maybe I'm wrong but thats what I've always heard.

    Well stock intake is really the best option until you get to a bigger turbo but the Injen is a good design. When WRXs first came out in 02 people were putting larger diameter intake pipes on which would make the car throw a check engine light (PO0176 I believe, thats what I used to get on my car)

    13,700 is a pretty good price for a WRX.
