The only parts that are actually expensive are ignition parts, just like every other BMW. Cap and rotor are about $75. Other than that, parts are dirt cheap. Front upper control arm bushings are $10 a pair. Rear subframe bushings are $30 apeice. Water pump is $34. Can't think of anythign else off the top of my head, but these cars are incredibly cheap to own/maintain, IF properly maintained. I wouldn't hesitate to say cheaper to maintain than an american car.
