Just a little info on these cars...

I have owned a few, a 325e and two 325i's, and I currently own the 325i in my sig.

The 325e is a great daily driver that gets 30mpg. It is a high torque, low rev motor with about 175tq and 130hp. The 325i is a 170hp 160tq with a higher redline but with less mileage. It is a bulletproof motor that will give you no trouble to 300k if maintained.

    You can put a 323i head on a 325e and make a 2.7 with a 6900rpm redline that can make around 180hp.

Another option is to swap a 325i head onto a 325e block. It will yield a 7.9:1 compression ratio that can handle 16psi+ all day long on completely stock internals. You'll make near 400hp and can run 11's with this setup. Here is a vid of what this setup is capable of http://media.putfile.com/1185run

They are fun cars with tons of potential.

Check please! If racing Bimmers wasn't so expensive (when they break) I would SO take this car!!! I have a 240WHP Spec V and got OWNED on the way to Summit Racing by a car like this... only it was red, but had a white hood and a white trunk. We dropped, I KILLED him in 3rd. 3 - 4 shift I stuck my hand outta the sunroof and waved bye-bye (like I always do, b/c I am a dick). Before I could get my hand in the sunroof to shift to 5th he was passing me EASILY! Not like... "yeah, he barely got me".... but like "check my gauges and make sure my engine is still running" type shit. PURE OWNAGE!!! I dunno know what setup he had, but it was the real deal. Free bump!

In America this model, chassis code E30, started out in 84. The coupe and sedan years stopped in 91. The convertibles kept going until 92 and there are a very few rare verts that are actually 93s. There are TONS of different engines, suspensions, interiors, bumpers, valances, etc.... that it would take forever to explain. Heres a phone pic of how mine looks currently

325 e was designed for efficiency
low-revving the rev limiter engages at around 4700 rpm
and and engine management system that were calibrated for better fuel economy
