I just got this truck and I love it. I had it for a week and then got kicked out of my house, so I can't afford to keep it and pay rent for an apartment. Therefore she must go so I can get an apartment. I have had it for about 2 weeks now and have put on about 1000 miles. Here is what I know about the truck:
Specs:
mileage-197,xxx
engine-350, 5.7 liter v8
transmission-5 speed manual
trim-Silverado
Options-cruise control, digital climate control, 4wd, a/c(but doesn't work, compressor is locked up)
The good:
-Runs great, I mean great, has high miles (197,xxx) but doesn't smoke and runs perfect.
-Big truck, has a 6 inch Rancho suspension lift(1800 dollars), with a 3 inch body lift, so total of 9 inches lift.
-Sits on 38 x 15.50 R 15 Super Swampers. They have about 3/8 of an inch of tread left.
-Has 3.73 gears. Awesome for a street/off road toy. Can still burn the tires off but still gives some decent gas mileage (about 15/16 miles to the gallon which is good for a truck this size).
-Its a stepside, maybe not special to you but I have a sweet spot for stepsides.
The bad:
-Needs a steering column, it broke and I welded it for now but the ignition is messed up so you don't use a key to start it, I will explain this only in person cause of how it works, if you want it fixed first, we can arrange that.
-4wd is fine but there is no front drive shaft in it. It wasn't there when I got it, but the transfer case seems to work fine and smoothly and the front end doesn't make any noises.
-Needs cosmetics, needs a paint job and rear bumper. Not really a big deal since it is just a mud toy. I was going to get the new rear bumber and take it to maaco for the cheapo paint job. Your choice.
-This really isn't bad but will matter if you live in an emissions county. It has no cats. Straight exhaust back to 2 flowmasters cut off at the rear axle.
-The cd player is finicky. It works but is on its way out, but in the mean time, it is at least good for something.
That is about all I can think of. It is perfectly driveable and very reliable. I just put a new starter in it today and a new rear end it it last week. It is a good daily if you don't drive far but i only say that because of the gas mileage and that it isn't a lot of fun to drive on the interstate(but still doable, i do it a couple times a week).
I am only selling because I have to get out from under the payment. I can't afford it and an apartment right now. I love it but i don't won't to live out of it, lol. I was offered 4800 for it right when I got it from my feonce's cousin but he already bought another truck. That was before the new rearend and starter and me breaking the steering column. So I am going to start the asking price at 4800 right now. Please don't make comments on the price. The truck may not be mint but even without the lift and stuff, these trucks in similar shape go for a couple of grand, and the lift, wheels, and tires are almost 5 g so it is well worth the money. The price isn't set in stone though so make offers. I am interested in trades for other trucks and suvs with cash too. I can not accept cars though because I have to use it for work. I need to get at least 2 grand cash with a trade to pay off what I owe anyways. Or I will sell straight up.
If you are interested, please call me at 770-653-6360. My name is Daniel. Since I don't live at home anymore, I don't have easy internet access. I only get online once every couple of days. So don't get mad if I don't reply to your pm's right away. Just call if you are that serious about the truck. If I don't answer, PLEASE leave your name and number. If you don't, of course I can't return your call. Thanks for looking.
Mods, if I did something wrong in this post and you want to delete it, please give me a couple of days to fix it because as I said, I don't have easy access like I used to, I used to be on 12 hours a day, lol. Lock it and pm me and then maybe I can fix it and you can the unlock it? I dunno. I think I covered all the rules but I am just including this paragraph just in case.
