Nice sol, but just looking at it, it's not just the fender paint that doesn't match... the bumper paint doesn't match, either... And the front was painted at maaco.. they're the only place I've ever seen that's sloppy enough to not mask off the front grill and paint the entire front (the grill in the "smile" is supposed to be flat black plastic like the sideskirts).. and the red on the front bumper is DEFINITELY maaco's generic red... I had a whole car painted in it
Carfax says rear impact, looking at the car I'd say that this car's nose ended up in the rear of another vehicle... pics of the rad. support?
Don't get me wrong, nice sol and all... just trying to lend my knowledge to this... sol bumpers are EASY to make fit, even if the radiator support is jacked... if the rad. support is bent, the potential buyer needs to know about it. I bought a sol that was improperly repaired after rearending someone, and it leads to problem after problem... mine ended up breaking the hoodlatch at 90mph on I85... didn't shatter the windshield thank god, but it wrapped around the space where the top was supposed to be (had the top off), and smacked me in the head.![]()
also, looking at the vin, who did the swap? Was it done before you got it? that car was originally an auto trans. sol I think... pretty sure JHMEH6169 is manual tranny code, JHMEH6168 is auto.. I could be wrong.. I've got the entire VIN number breakdown somewhere...
Good luck with the sol mang... potentially a pretty good deal for someone in the market.LMK if you need any help with it, and try posting it up on www.automotivetech.org ... it's a del Sol specific forum.
