    Question

Do you have the stock headlights? What about the suspension?

    How many dents / dings?
How long have you owned the vehicle?
    What maintenance have you done?
    Anything broke?

I am looking to purchase a newer daily driver....

What the hell is the difference if you are e-mailed questions versus posting them here in the thread?

IF you weren't so damn cocky, I'd consider buying your car....

I would have to replace the headlights and that tv screen as well.

If you give a $hit here are my questions again:

I never lease the car. Hell, I've got enough cash right now to buy it w/out financing.

Humm.... interesting.... Another 99-00 Civic Si guy.... Boy, you guys have too much pride....

My MAIN point was not the price that he was asking but rather the attitude he was showing to sell his car. Listen, I run business and that really throws off buyers. Furthermore, It looks like not many are showing interest at this car as the seller just reduced the price. Again, I ain't got nothing against this seller but just wanted to tell him how I felt.

No way, he told me to shoot him an offer and then HE WILL SEE HOW SERIOUS I'M ABOUT PURCHASING HIS CAR.

See here, you are already "talking down" on your potential buyer.

It's more like, "YEAH I'VE GOT THIS GREAT CAR, and I don't give a fcuk you buy it or not"

the point is, you dont have the money to buy it or you have the money and dont want it....moving on in your case would be the best thing to do
And since your a "buisness man" im sure your buisness is great with your great customer service ( note the sarcasm)

I didn't know about the mileage. Great buy!!!! I will take that at $8000 then spend $8500 on 100000 miles.

to be honest, if you really want him to go down that far, ask him to take some of the parts to bring the price down, or buy it for thata mount, sell some of the parts and make money, since this isnt my thread, i would like to apologize to the thread starter and to gawee77, i hope you sell teh car and i hope gawee finds a car he wants for a great price.

I just started reading this thread and thought I would throw in my .02 cents since I have some experience and knowledge in the arena of a cars value. I operate a used car lot and have for around five years. Also I own a 99 si. I have in front of me the December 2005 NADA book which is compiled by the National Automobile Dealers Association. This book is what is used by banks to determine the amount of money they will loan on a particular vehicle. It also includes a trade in price and a retail price. These figures are compiled directly from dealers and market research. This book is a very accurate representation of the value of a vehicle. Now concerning a 2000 Honda Civic Si per 12/05
    Retail: $11,250
    Trade: $9,275
    Loan: $8325
Now as a car dealer, if I can get a vehicle within $500-$700 of the loan amount I am selling the car at a good price. The expectation of a bank is that you will have a trade in or a down payment of at least 10% of the cost of the vehicle. My point in all of this is to give a little info to those thinking that this fellow is asking too much for this car. This car is right on the money. It's not a steal, however, it is a very reasonable price for what appears to be a clean vehicle. I have not seen this vehicle in person so I don't know if I would take off for anything such as, dents, paint damage, interior wear, etc. The NADA book assumes a vehicle in average condition for the age and there is an expectation of some wear based on the age of the vehicle. Good luck on the sale. Sorry for the hijack. Free bump for you.
