    Either will be reliable. WRXs are notorious for the weak 5speeds (the 6speeds are a completely different, almost indestructable beast). If you just take your time between shifts and let the synchros do their thing you wont really have any problems.

    The main problem is people coming from 2WD cars are used to being able to just pop the clutch with gearshifts. On a 2WD car you'll chirp your tires between gears, on an AWD car you'll just torque the shit out of your entire drivetrain. Same goes for launching.
