I dont think you are following him. H'es got a shop, where they have money.
If you indeed want to sell the car for money, then drive the damn thing to him. Tehy look at it, they like it,BOOM, you leave with cash in your hand... it's that simple.
It's a buyers market not a sellers for what you've got, so if I was you I'd just have a buddy follow me to sell it and come home with some money....
Or,
You could do nothing and hope that people dont keep bailing on you and you have to hold on to the car for longer.
