Default Confused results of clutch&fly Install

I just got done installing my clutch and flywheel for my evo and I don't understand what else I need to do to make it run. Me and my brother assume its a weak battery but the battery is reading ok(blue on the battery meter) and my brother also tested it at 11volts. When I try to start it at first, it was trying to start but it wouldn't. Everytime I tried it, it the starting up the car got weaker and weaker and suddenly the power on the dash wouldn't glow anymore. Also, the clutch feel is dead; there is no resistance whatsoever. It goes up and down like it doesn't work. We don't think we've forgotten anything so far and everythings filled up and bolted down. If you have any advice, feel free to lend me some. Its been a long half and a year and I'd like to drive my car FINALLY! Thanks

    Default Confused

Ok, I jumped the car and added more gas for safety measures. The clutch pedal is still loose as a feather. I talked to my cousin and he said I need to charge the battery and bleed the clutch some more until it gets resistant. The gauges on the dash are brighter now but he also said the battery might not be strong enough to start the car. I'mma try and bleed the clutch until something happens. He also said there should be a switch to activate the clutch to start the car somewhere near the clutch pedal. If you have any more advice. Please let me know. Thanks

I also have the ACT Street Disc and Fly Combo installed currently. I think the reason why the car won't start is because I havn't adjusted the clutch and bleeded the clutch line thoroughly yet. Everything is bolted back up ready to run..I also put in new spark plugs and they were already gapped to stock specs. I'mma stop trying to start the car up until I get the clutch line bled and the clutch pedal adjusted. Those two things are probably the problem why it won't turn the motor on. With the clutch loose as a feather, It won't start until its engaged/disengaged I guess... I think i've been trying to start the car as if I was starting if up without depressing the clutch. OoPs...I kinda figured that now.. I hope it doesn't damage anything cause I have been trying hard to start it up recently. But yea, I'mma try and finish those two things as soon as daylight and warmer weather arrives.

P.S Do I have to uninstall the clutch pedal to reach the *ROD*? It seems like I have to unbolt things to reach the *ROD*. Hopefully I think I know where it is...

no its not i have done 5 clutch installs and the only time you have to bleed the clutch is if you put a stainless clutch line off if you did everything right then you shouldnt have to bleed it if you just replaced the clutch

Agree'd. But I'm gonna give you some helpful advice as well. Open up the bleeder and stick a hose on the bleeder screw (a clear one is prefered but a regular rubber hose will do). Have that hose submerged in a cup full of clean brake fluid. top off the fluid in the resevoir start pumping the pedal until all the air bubbles are gone and the pedal is stronger.

    K series 626. That's right. It's got a K in it.

Im going to try and bleed the clutch line and adjust the pedal when I wake up..Hopefully it'll resolve the issue and my car can finally wake up from its long term surgery! I just want it to RUN with no problemsss! I heard that I have to adjust the pedal pretty high for the ACT HDSS clutch that I have. I'll give it a shot... Hopefully I can get it adjusted and bled correctly tomorrow. Pray for me guys..

    Default What else?

The service engine light also comes on when I try and start my car.. Could it be that the loom connectors are plugged in the wrong switch? I plugged them in according to length of cord and where it would likely match. It could be that one is misplaced? Everything on top of the motor is plugged in to my knowledge. Under the car, everythings bolted up! People say it should START regardless of the clutch not engaging or disengaging or bled. I'mma have a look around in a bit. Let me know on your opinions...

Stop messing with your car... and take it to a professional. Or at the minimum to someone who knows what they are doing.

If you start messing around with the wiring you can end up damaging more stuff than helping.

    Default Its running now..

My car is finally running right now but not 100% up to drive everyday...Due to it not being able to start was the cause of *BAD GAS*. Since it had been sitting in my garage for half a year. It couldn't start because of it. There weren't any codes when I scanned it earlier. But after I started it up, there was one called a malfunction speed sensor. But everything seemed to be working fine on all gauges. The car is backfiring at the moment especially when the car gets warm.. I have to idle at about 2k to get the car moving and havn't adjusted the clutch pedal since my friend said it was hydraulic and should adjust itself. I'm just excited its RUNNING!!! I added injector fluid and octane booster just as my friend insisted. Hopefully it'll run smoother in the future. Sometimes it'll drive smooth and downshifting is no problem. Cruising at low speeds is no problem either. Any opinions or advice.. Let me know!

Your friend is an idiot if he actually believes that. If there's any air pockets in it, the clutch won't fully engage. Bleed the clutch properly or take to someone who knows what they are doing.

The cars misfiring right now. I put the old spark plugs in..engine shakes. Problem still exists. Seems like something is not receiving enough of what it needs. The motor sounds like its struggling...I'mma have to take it to a professional if nobody I know know's the solution. I've driven it a few times already and its bot smooth sailing. It needs alotta depressing the gas to actually drive and engage. Thanks anyway

Didnt take me 6 months. ..Been outta town quite a bit and own more then one car. Saved lots of $$$, gained lots of evo8 knowledge, Used the time i didnt drive the evo to research & choose the right necessities for the future. Attempted & accomplished something people wouldn't recommend doing yourself. Saved up to $1000 which can be used for anything. Disadvantages til this day = none! that's why i'm . There was once upon a time when pro's were just like me & when you keep trying..Thats how you become a pro. Life is filled with connections.. Appreciate the thought; even if I followed what you had said above, i would've learned nothing from the whole process and will never be a pro at anything.
