350Z over S2000

As I am pulling onto 85-S at Clairmont, a blue S2000 flies by me. I catch up to him to race and he hits the gas before I have an opportunity to line up. I catch up to him again (not expecting him to race me) and I hear the horn. I barely downshifted before the third honk so he got a little bit of a jump on me. We started at 60-70 mph and he was about 1/2 car length ahead and by the time I shut down at 120 he was about a length behind. Good run.

I was just guessing. I didn't look behind me until I slowed back down, so for all I know he could've been 5 lengths back.

EDIT: Now that I think about it, he was definitely farther back, as I had regained the 1/2 length + some by 80MPH
