E46 vs. 03 cobra *vid*

Not trying to start a war and I don't know the E-46 that well other than I like the ZHP package but what is the stock 1/4 mile times on factory tires that you have got? I know several people that can not get better than a 14.2 out of them (articles say 13.9) and they are not convertibles. However the stock 03 Cobra says 12.9 in the 1/4 on factory tires with no weight removed (I do not race magazines either) but I do know in a vert with street radials they will run 12.8's with a 1.86 60 ft. time launching soft and feathering the clutch.

Do not take this as a flame war but an educational purpose. Like I said I do not know the E-46 so fill me in because even though I read the test results from time to time but I am not a magazine racer. I am not arguing any points but interested in the BMW performance and difference in the models.

Why? I am wanting a newer BMW (2005-2006 range) that seats 4 and looking for the best value for what I can get so fill me in a bit.

Well i have a 05 ZCP M3 which is little bit lighter then the regular M3. about 150 lbs. I think it makes little bit more power. My M3 when i was stock it was faster then any other stock M3. My best time on 1/4 it was 13.3 @ 106 my 60 feet was like 2.11 ( Think about it the M3 is not a Drag car.) So i never lost to a stock cobra on the HWY. I dont know about the Drag Strip. I saw some people running 12.9 with a stock M3.

I think the jet black with the Black w/Dakota Leather and the sport package with a standard tranny is gonna work for me just fine.

What do you think of the different interiors? I am gonna have to see them in person before deciding and I am definitely gonna be checking out the M3.
