2000ish Saleen Mustang
So I am getting groceries in the PT today, and I see this yellow Saleen mustang, convertible, looking mean making all kinds of noise fly right by me. Im bored so I play chase. We play around a little bit and he drops a gear guns it, I do as well he pulled a tad from the start and I walk by. We stop at the light he tells me my car is fast. wow pt cruiser blah blah.. are saleen mustangs fast? They look and sound fast. But this was like running a GT.
They're definitely not slouchy cars, but it depends what series Saleen we're talkin about but generally I think theyre at 400hp? How much power are you running with your set up?
Most you'll see driving around aren't the supercharged ones, I'd just watch out for the "E" Saleens. While they aren't uber fast, they're built 2v engines with an underrated 425hp. The new "E" saleen is supposedly pretty fast.
I like to add the "E" to cars I never see on the road.

236/238 with just intake exhaust and spring mod. theres more done now (extra 5-6 psi, wastegate..other crap.. and it needs tuned for more boost and fuel.. Its getting tuned next month when I get the rest of my goodies ill post numbers then.
Well I heard no supercharger, It had to have been a saleen the bodywork is hard to miss. lol i googled it to make sure

Yeah, most don't have the S281SC because Saleen charges like 20k more for it.

I used to Work at Gwinnett Place Ford. I did new car sales. We carried Saleens and Roush. only had 2 SC281's on the lot. The Extreme's werent out yet.
A gear? gearing changes a lot on those cars. I was stating that I beat GTs (big hoot) But I have no problem running, yur buddy might laugh when u tell him he should run a PT. lol

I have a buddy who has a "stock" maroon 96 cobra with a gear that was talkin about wanting to race that black, older mustang u have(the slow one).
Well, the Saleens do not come with the standard 3.27 gear, like the GTs do... And some a lot of them even have T56 6spd transmissions. And he would probably like the change. He only races other Mustangs, he races NMRA. But he also has valve spings (w/ stock cams), convertor, and electric water pump... He doesn't street race though... but he'll run you for money at Commerce.

"stock" my ass... maybe I can get him to come to the track Friday night, I'll bring my true slower car. He doesn't make that much more power than my slow car. He might be faster on the street but I bet I can kick his ass on the track. oh yeah, Josh is bringing his turbo'd beast to the track... maybe he can show slowhawk what real GM power is!

Well let me tell you a funny story. I have a friend that has a Altima Se-R with a Cold air intake/Exhaust and he killed a GT with bolt-ons.

Those numbers sound right but not for a 2v.....Those are 4v numbers....so dont try the stock gt with gears

LoL, why I've raced a couple of Camaro's/SS/One with 200shot/5.0Mustangs/Impreza's/GT's. From a dig No big deal to me
I've also raced a GT with 4.10 gears bolt on's, Cams, 6 speed. Sadly he put 2-3 cars on me from a roll. Thats it, I'm sure I would have done better if we were have done a higher roll. Don't you?

IT IS STOCK..... NO A/C no P/S and has electric water pump! damn... you should have bought a civic... my car did 253/290 with MAC cold air, prochamber mid pipe, magnaflow cat back.... what makes you think it couldn't do 265/300?
The thing with the mod motors are you have to be careful not everything always helps you cams on the 2 valves can hurt more then anything with the wrong setup and on the 4vs hell you'll make just as much power with the stock cams or getting some cams out of a navigator motor will help more then anything.. Thats why its hard to say with that gt you raced if he's done cam's it just depends on the tune and what bolt on's he has done.
But like i said my car has nuthing for you its a 14sec car.....but if your looking for a dig race 1/8 im sure i can get you some action...
