yeah stock turbo with ^ed boost yeah the EVO has a big advantage, i edited my post up there, time.. after seeing the crappy numbers of people using ECutek.. i decided to go with the Cobb Accessport... we arent using the appropriate maps. car isnt running like it could.. and we put 300awhp 317awtq
and until recently it was untunable.. however that has now changed

alot of people call BS on it.. but the car was dynoed at topsp33d where yes.. they were surprised by the #s

mods: Injen FMIC, Injen CAI, Perrin catless downpipe,HKS hipower exhaust, Cobb Accessport (stg2 map)

alot of Ecutek guys pull bs on it.. but im sure once the car is Tuned we will in the 330 area

Like I said I doubt you beat him (unless you have some serious wieght reduction) my guess is your cars were pretty even. Your making about the same horsepower at the crank. Evo gets less of it to the wheels, but you also wiegh (in stock form) 600lbs more than an evo.

How about a race in 5th gear in the Civic and Evo? I think the Civic will pull ahead,

But what's the point of comparing a stock economy car to a stock "high performance" car? That's dumb.

This thread hurts my head so bad... so much bad information wirtten everywhere... so many pointless insults everywhere... reading some of it makes me throw up a little in my mouth.

SpeedMonkey, come to the track @ TunerFest. I'll try to get the most stock as possible Evo I can find to come stage against you.

I think you have problems reading. He never said he could beat a Evo at the track, he said he could pull away from one on a HWY roll at top end. I've seen it happend.

Plus the mods that the 350z has it might have around the same power a stock evo has or more.

This 350z dynoed at 240rwhp or 243rwhp (can't really remember) stock.

600lbs more? Where are you getting this from? The 350Z is a small car...i doubt the differnce is that much. Hell i would think the Z would be lighter then a 4 door AWD car.

haha dont i wish... lets do the engine swap TRINH!!!

CT9r on a serious note.. i will bitchslap an evo owner if he COULDNT beat me at the track.. not only do i lack track experience.. but come on.. its AWD dont be stupid

the whole thread is about me beating a pretty much stock evo on the highway... call it BS.. whatever.. you have a right to state an opinion.. however.. facts are facts... the Z will take the evo on highend rolls.. cant accept it?.. like i said.. get someone to run me.

    With love - Will

by the way SilverJester .. i think the EVo weighs what?.. 3200?... the Z weighs about the same.. so where do the extra 600lbs come from?... even the roadster weighs in around 3450..

here.. www.google.com ill get you started

I don't get all this big agurment. Simple Math and facts

    2003 EVO
    271 hp @ 6500 rpm
    273 ft-lbs @ 3500 rpm
    Curb Weight 3263 lbs

    2003 350Z
    287 hp @ 6200 rpm
    274 ft-lbs @ 4800 rpm
    Curb Weight 3217 lbs

Seems like anybody can be a winner on this race. This race is more of a driver race. I've seen 350s dyno 230whp and Evos with the same numbers so this don't look like BS. I think most fools think in here just because a car is turbo is faster which is wrong. 350z had some mods and the evo was probably stock. I say good kill and be safe.

from those numbers the Evo is making 273lbs of torque @ 3500rpm while the 350 is making it at 4800rpms, does that still sound even? I can attest to this after running against ct9r's evo last night and lost.

I agree that it would be a drivers race stock for stock but I don't think the average 350Z owner would be able to do it, I guess that would make speedmonkey a pretty good driver in my opinion.

no problem man, alot of people just like to hate on the Z.. and only talk about and exagerate on its cons and completely ignore its pros

    like magazine racers.
    1. they throw the car semi violently into turns.. you will get too much understeer and you can definately tell the car isnt the lightest right after you get out of an RX8 or s2000 (which are the cars they usually test against it).. its made for a more conservative type driving.. start gettin aggressive once a turn is initiated and the car will definately surprise you with a behaved rear end and very little understeer and good equilibrium.. the Z and S2k have very very close/rivaling track times with equal drivers, and everyone knows that the S2000 is the type of car that is happier in the twisties... so is the Z

    2. Straight line acceleration... well i think motortrend is the only magazine that has been able to run the fastest times over the others, with a 13.7 1/4 and 102 mph trapspeed. Fuel cutoff in the car is too early into redline (car redlines at 6600, FC is at 6700) alot of drivers with traction problems (like myself at commerce) find themselves hittin FC from 1-2, and the RE040 tires dont really get along with torque,. but magazines..they wont talk about that.. and alot of morons run the car with VDC on (wont give you a good launch and will kill throttle momentarily when you slam hard into 2nd) i beleive i can get into 13's at commerce with some more practice.. i think im gonna run the 18th regardless of how much alot of people here will make fun of me but i dont really care.. its just for fun, we all start somewhere right?... however i am very confident on the street

That's all it's about. I know people who are perfectly happy with their 15 second cars...even though I joke around with them sometimes, it's about what makes you happy it's your car.

I was hitting 375 on low boost (6psi) and 431 on high (8psi). I don't think those are crazy numbers.

Nope, thicker head gasket and turbo setup.... thats all you need......

No engine builds here, unless you want more than 650whp on the GE motor.

I never said YOU were the guy i talked to that night. I highly doubt it was you, actually.

At HIN, a tuning shop from TN had their "shop car" there. It was a TT 350z with mods and engine build out the wazooo.... 544whp @ ??? psi is the highest the guy said it dynoed.

NA Supra with upgraded head gasket and stock motor - to get 544whp.... all you have to do is turn up the boost and tune N-V-ME

    uhhhhh...... what?

no one is hating.. i think everyone was going by what they've seen/heard from people who have tried to boost NA 2jz's... according to alot of people i have talked to , they tend to blow holes thru the blocks alot until they start swappin 2jzgte parts in.

however yeah... connecting rods > 350z
    2004 Nissan 350z Trng

Actually, aside from the headgasket, the GE engine is quite bulletproof, for a stock N/A motor, it can handle some impressive numbers on its own. It's the transmission that you have to worry about. Stock tranny can hold ~ 500ish hp safely, and can hold higher. But one mishift and *BOOM*.

    Val for President.

They must have been the guys that "work on their own cars..." The Engine in the NA Supra is pretty much the exact same one as the TT Supra. TT Supra has lower compression pistons and different oil squirters.... thats about it!!!!

Like Val said, its not the engine that is our problem, its our transmission.

    TT 6-speed - Holds 1200whp without modification
    NA 5-speed - ~500-550whp
