MX-3 Vs SRT4
Ok, on my way from TN to ATL I saw an MX-3 on 75S. We both Took 285 (going towards Augusta). When the two lanes merged from 75s onto 285 this MX-3 took off. I dropped down to third and passed him in forth. I figured it had to be some sleeper. I tried to slow down again for another round after activating the boost controller but he didn't bite. Good run!

When I had my old v6 mx-3 I was beating up on some SI's, GSR's( Lightly modded).. (not much to brag about), But my old mx-3 moved it was actually fun to drive that sucker.
And it did a buck thirty five no problem also. 190k+ miles for what it was.
I forgot to say... a MX-3 is definitely no match for a SRT NEON.

BTW, what color was it? When was this? I know of 5 that could take the srt4. 3 NA and 2 boosted....good kill tho.
The color was an off blue and it definetly wasn't stock. I was beating stock MX-3s in high school with my 1st Gen Neon. If this was an ordinary MX-3 do you think I would waste time and post about it. I'm running a S1, AGP WGA, NeedSwing In Cabin MBC, and a K&N CAI. I spike at 19 and hold 15. The guy had a great sleeper because the only visual difference was a polished muffler tip.

yep seen a coulpe in atl that would walk away and leave an srt 4 an if that was who i think it was you would of been handed your ass
but this is the same car julio when you turned left it shut off....lol i guess it had something against nascar....lol

mine used to do that cause it had a blowed head gasket
That Was Me!!! Yeah dude I was not about to get my butt handed to me a second time. I would love to run a SRT from a stand still...but I have nothing for you on the highway. I have a 2.5L KLZE engine in my MX-3. Its a J-spec Mellinia/Mx-6 motor. I thought you might be wanting me to run up on you again...and I had to talk myself out of it Bush Senior style..."Not Gonna Duit". It looked like you were with another person from TN? I saw you haul a$$ to get over with them. Yeah sleeper is the word..in daylight you would have seen the Green Turd Paint job. The clearcoat on a 1993 paint job only lasts for so long when the previous owner abuses it.

i asked aaron if it was him..cuz i thought it was him also. He ran a stock srt4 (dealer tags still on it) one 2 eweeks ago form a stop..and they were dead even..i think the srt pulled a bumper out at the end. real close tho..

Yeah that was me on the highway! At first I thought the Integra wanted some but you came from out of nowhere. My wife was pissed off because she had to use the bathroom(since Chattanoga) while I was slowing down. She was driving the Camry with TN plates. We were in town for HIN now we are in Augusta. I'm giving props cause that was a good run. I love sleepers.

Like I said I was pretty sure I would get walked but I would love to run a SRT from a standstill...Maybe not yours though. Good run.

there r some BP-DET (1.8 jdm 323 motor) swapped MX3's out there that would rip an SRT-4 a new one even with stock turbo at stock boost (the GTR BPT is 215 hp) and the sky is the limit with those motors, there are like a duck to water when it comes to handling boost. there are ppl on protegepower forums that have them in everything from a 323 hatch, 4 door protege, and even MX3's that are in the 9's... thats 1/4 mile, imagine on the HWY.

Yeah, a friend of mine has a BP-T swaped in him mx-3 and he dynoed it at 250. A Haltech will do amazing things to those set-ups.
^^u are right..a guy in florida has a (kia) NA BPT, putting out 290 to the wheels, on 15psi, with just a haltech and a T3..
