I think there is some truth to what cobra is saying.
I think "street" (or "skreet") racing refers to drag racing, not done on a track.
Going from a "dig" takes a lot more in terms of driver reaction times and driving skill, and it requires that the car work better overall. The suspension and drivetrain have to be properly chosen/modified for racing, and the proper tires must be used.
If people dont like to drag race, and they choose not to modify their cars "properly" to drag-race, there is nothing wrong with it. If you want to go do power-to-weight comparisions from a 40, 60, 70 MPH rolls, thats fine. But, in my opinion, and the point cobra is making is that its not "street racing."
I admit its difficult to find someplace to run "from a dig," and most people end up doing rolls these days, but in reality, most people use that as an excuse more than anything.
Overall, this arguement is over semantics, and its a matter of how you look at it.

But I'm still offering to run him from a dig just at a track. I'm not changing the way his car hooks. He says its set up to run from a dig well at a track he is still runnning from a dig.

I agree that he should either (a) run you at the track or (b) stop talking about it.
I dont agree with his reasons for not wanting to run you at the track. I do think its the most "fair" place. But, I do agree with some of his reasons for wanting to run on the street, because his car is setup for it. Its just two different "games," so to speak. Neither one is better than the other. Ive seen first-hand some of the bickering between you guys. I think in the past you have "insulted" his car and other mustangs becaue they arent as "nice" overall as your car, and Im sure thats part of the fuel for this fire. You guys just have to agree to disagree and let this one go
I will say that I think you seem to have, for the most part.

As I have forgotten about it. No I don't like mustangs I don't care if there nicer than my car or not. There still not nice cars to me in my opinion. People spend a whole bunch of money on them and they still don't go anywhere. I am bowtie lover all the way and ford circles the problem on every car and thats all I have to say about

    Lightbulb My point of view

I met people that have been street racing in atlanta since they were 17 18 years old now they are in their mid 30's. So back in the day they use to do a lot of different racing. If you guys where familiar w/ " the hole" by monroe they used to meet up there and hit 85's access roads and race from a set point to another point w/out using the breaks, If one of the drivers hit the breaks will lose, So here we have street racing at a higher level b/c you had to judge speed, slow down by down shifting and using some skills to win the race.

They also use to do night street racing w/no litghs on from a set point to another point, they also used to do traffic racing thru downtown atl.

An the callouts where handle in the turns going to the drango's tail or helen..

The drivers w/out skills or guts will only race there in the hole in a straight line and the real street racers would race doing laps around the triangle.

The I guess we became retarded and start racing in a straight line.

SO STREET RACING IS____________ RACING FROM ONE POINT TO ANOTHER POINT. IT CAN BE DONE IN MANY WAYS, THAT IS WAY YOU DO IT IN THE STREET, AND NOT IN A TRACK, B/C IN THE TRACK THERE ARE RULES, IN THE STREET THERE ARE NO RULES.

Again, you are arguing semantics=irrelevant. I never heard of "chicken" being called street racing. Nor have I called "mountain runs" or "roadracing" being called "street racing."
whatever makes you happy to call it, I guess
Oh, but its rediculous to say drag racers doint have "driving" skill.
Since your Mr roadracer...you know who Hurley Haywood is...right? So here is a case in point. Hurley used to take Porsches and other cars down to Jax raceway for some of the local magazines to drag race them. And guess what...Hurley usually sucked at drag racing...even Porsches. As a matter of fact, I seem to recall a magazine reporter making a run once and doing better than Hurley did.
So, does this mean Hurley doesnt have driving skill? Is he "retarded?"
I doubt you would ever say that. Its more about experience in that particular facet of racing.
So, I would suggest you stepping off your roadracing soapbox and go to a roadracing-specific forum, if thats the way you feel about things.
