    is ls1tech the only website on earth where people dont want to castrate him?

    btw, its funny how he constantly says "cam-only SS" on here when he says in there that he has a built, forged motor and full bolt-ons. He's probably lying about the "stock" heads, since he refers to them as "factory" heads in the thread also. I imagine they are worked.
    Basically, that car seems "fully built" in my book.
    Id probably be pretty upset if I spent all that money and only made that much power out of an lsx motor.
    Even if its setup for nitrous with lower compression, Id expect more.

    lol since when do u need lower compression for nitrous, oh ya the forged rods and pistons add about 100 hp lol....sorry i had to point out how stupid you are oh yea his heads are Untouched, - the valve springs, you need to change those for a higher lift cam..other then that its a factory stock head never touched by a any type of grinder..happy?

If youre saying that a lot of people dont run lower compression with nitrous so they can run more shot and lessen the chance of detonation, youre the one who is stupid. Do you have to...no. Do a lot of people. YES.
    And no, those other parts dont intrinsically add any power. The pont is that he's sandbagging his build by calling a built motor car a "cam-only" motor. Its an indicator of his lying, thats it.

    well let me enlighten you...NITROUS doesnt need low compression as it COOLS THE INTAKE CHARGE...so sky high compression and nitrous is perfectly FINE.....as far as porting the heads...LS1 heads stock flow really well and i guess he didnt want to spend a lot of money on gaining 10-20hp that you get from porting the stock heads...hope it makes more sense to you now.

    If stock ls1 heads flow so well, why do I see people picking up 30+ whp by CNC'ing stock heads? Anway, its moot for us to speculate on why people do the things they do.
    Oh, here is an excerpt from NOS's website:

    Q: Can high compression engines utilize nitrous oxide?

    A: Absolutely. High or low compression ratios can work quite suitably with nitrous oxide provided the proper balance of nitrous and fuel enrichment is maintained. NOS kits are used in applications from relatively low compression stock type motors to Pro-Modifieds, which often exceed 15 to 1. Generally, the higher the compression ratio, the more ignition retard, as well as higher octane fuel, is required. For more specific information talk to one of our technicians.

    I took the liberty of bolding the part that makes my point. Its all on how the car is setup.
    Ive had turbocharged, supercharged and nitrous cars..4, 6 and 8 cyl. I know a little bit about the chemo- and thermodynamics of power adders...I didnt just fall-off the turnip truck like some of the import owners on here.

    What are the heads on his car???? Number wise I'll know what they are. Are they just 241's???

    Thats really only valid on a carb motor.Just stating facts on LS1's

    Thats a big pain in the ass in a dark parking lot. I wouldn't do that unless he or you has some new injector o rings because they tear easily when you put them back in especially when there old. Just would hate to stuck in a parking lot with that probelm spewing fuel on a hot motor .

    don't have to pull the injecors/rails, fuel line disconnect tool and a few towels to catch all the fuel will work fine . i could have that thing off and on in 30 minutes with letting everybody look. if i make the right amount of money off the race. i wont mind at all

    I know that you know a shitload about ls1's so Im not going to begin to dispute ls1 specifics with you. But, just answer one question honestly here...
    True or False: Some people (regardless of if its the "right" thing to do in your opnion) who are building motors for nitrous will build them to be lower compression than they would otherwise build a N/A motor, so that they can run more timing (making it run better normally) or require lower octane in their street car (whether or not you think its true.)

    Thacker ran all his times before the forged build.. he just has the forged motor cuz the diamond pistons/pro mod rods can handle a nice 200-250 hp shot

    He added a few more mods too.

    Lightspeed: some folks do that, yes.. I will elaborate with some examples when I get off of work if you want. But it's not really applicable in Thacker or most ls1 owners application..

    Ain't nothing much to do now but just wait til the weekend.
