    NEWSFLASH..When some one says they have a cam only car in the Fbody world..its usualy assumed they have all teh bolt ons to go with it. Hope that helps you understand what CAM ONLY means..means a cam change plus supporting mods such as headers/CAI etc

    No...a cam only car is CAM ONLY....hint: that why it sez "only"..ie...nothing else to add power. Every f-body owner I've ever talked to either said they had cam + bolt-ons, ie. lid, longtubes, gears, blah,blah,blah....

    I get the reasoning though...i don't see anyone willing to swap cams still using stock cai, headers, etc.

    doesn't make any difference to me....that 396rwhp isn't enough unless his car is seriously gutted.

    so how much spray? or is that classified

    Also F-body guys do refer to there cars as cam only when it has bolts as well. Its just understood in the f-body world that if you have the cam 99.999999% you have all the bolt ons as well. Not takings sides I just work on them all day everyday and thats the way it goes if you drive a mullet mobile like me and other F-body owners

    i think i've read this 5-6 times. let me break it down

    performance mods = slp headers, exhaust, ported throttle body, futral motorsports fm13 camshaft with manley valvesprings/shims/fms chromoly pushrods

    drivetrain mods = strange 12 bolt w/4.11's, spec stage 3 clutch

    The car made 376rwhp on this setup and ran [email protected]

    This year parts added ls6 intake/asp underdrive/diamond pistons/lunati rods/clevite bearings so spraying the car with a hefty shot won't be a problem.. the car has stock heads, hell i even offered to pull the intake manifold off in the parking lot the other night so they could inspect the intake ports.

    ok...so is this the car that's supposed to run nyteryder? there are too many damn f-bodies floating around this peace!

    sounds like a typical modded ls1.....and if this is the specs on the one running J, the deciding factor is gonna be how much the ls1 is spraying (I hope at least 200shot or bigger for his sake).......



    here's how I think this race will turn out if it happens:

    from a dig(ls1 on the bottle): if J can get the 240 out the hole and stay even with him until he gets into 3rd, there will need to be someone at the 1/4 mark to call it.

    from a dig to 130 or 140mph(same scenario): same as above until the 120mph mark....J will start to walk.

    from any kind of race with the ls1 on motor only....J will get brought up on rape charges

    rolling start with ls1 on bottle.....J will walk him after 120mph

    A car that already runs 11.6 @ 117 + 200 shot = about 10.6 @ 132 assuming good traction (with slicks that's no problem).
    So unless someone has a trap speed that's close to 130, it's pointless to assume that the Camaro will lose to the 240 or either of the M3s from any speed up to 140mph (unless they invest in slicks and/or tougher trannies).

    He should run Slowhawk......I would run him in my T/A but it was in a accident recently and goes in the body shop friday......When it gets fixed I will run his camaro if he would like

    I guess people are just afraid to lose. Whats the purpose of putting all the time and money in a car just to talk shit and back down from races? I could care less if I win or lose its all in good fun. I truely belive that Thackers car is easily capable of dragging Jeremy's 240 down the road but he does not have the nutts to run. I guess we will never know for sure.

    The improvement it gives depends on where you start as far as 1/4 mile times.

    If it goes from 15 sec to 14 sec then it's definately weak, but when it goes from 12 sec to 11 sec it's nothing to sneeze at.

    Whats wrong with that? Nitrous doesn't work like a boosted engine. You can run high compression ratios with nitrous.
