Stock Z06 beats Purple Skyline GTR 3 times! Post up the vid!

I didn't get an opportunity to catch the drivers name but I enjoyed racing with him tonight. We ran 3 times in the 1/8th and I had about 4-5 cars each time (3rd time with a supercharged mustang too - 3 wide, I'm not sure if the skyline beat him, but again about 4-5 cars).

Post up the videos, I was only able to see the first one that your buddy took, I think you were leaving the line around @ 6K.

If you do not want to post it send it to me a link via PM when you get a chance.

I heard someone say that your clutch broke on the way home but I'm not positive. Hopefully you made it back home okay.

he locked his keys in the car and i called AAA then with an antenna it got unlocked. i know his clutch was getting shitty but it wont go in gear now???

I'm curious if this guys skyline is trinhs old car. If i remember that color (midnight purple) was the only R33 in the country that was legal. That sucks about the clutch though...taking the trans out of that car is no fun from what i've heard from sam at tiger racing.

TO tell you how bad it was messed up (Moes car) We could put it in gear, take our foot ALL THE WAY off the clutch and it wouldnt stall out

mikes zo6 is an 03 so its only 405 hp. The skyline is not stock and has 350 whp from whats been posted about it on this forum so really they were around the same hp but the skyline is heavier but should have a big advantage off the line.

Sorry but I am forced to interject here.

One, my car is compltely stock except for a 3' catback exhaust with full cat and resonator. Everything else is stock INCLUDING the factory air filter. lol oh and its about 3600lbs stock. Plus the 3 people I had in the car.

Two, my clutch was messing up from the first run, remember I was saying that the damn thing wouldnt launch correctly? Well it was becuase my clutch was dieing damn near instantly.

I would love to actually re-run that race once I get my clutch fixed seeing as how I never really got to go all out since my clutch seems to have started going out on the highway run up there. Not that I expect to necessarily win however I would love the opportunity. Thanks.

It started going out on the highway run to the spot, I really started noticing it my first and 2nd runs. Realized what the problem was on my 3rd run, started to leave, drove 1000ft and suddenly had no clutch at all. I mean NONE. I can leave it in gear with the car on and it doesnt shut off once I remove my foot from the clutch. And NONE of the gears work not even reverse. We tried damn near everything including pushing, trying to engage with the engine off, popping the cluch, being very forcefull with it, ect. Alas.... it is gone. Oh well! Time for an Exedy upgrade! lol.

Thanks a lot for all of the help last night guys. I really appreciate it. I will post more info about the episode a little later but seeing as how it is 1.36pm and I am JUST getting home from last night I am tired as hell! Thanks.

Dude, I'm so fucking tired from that night... I didn't get in until around 7:30 because after we dropped you off, Chris' girls mustang failed to start. We had to go jump her off. Anyway, I am willing to help out anyone that needs it, and seeing as nobody was really willing to stay until the tow-truck showed (and I will post up pics in a second after I upload those) I figured I would. Yeah, I want to see the re-run of that race, only because since I do have footage of the bad launch/clutch gone runs, it would make for an interesting vid. For those wanting a copy, at the next meet (where ever the hell it will be after all, the cops did bust that shit up) I will give a copy.

NOTE: It isn't a very long vid... I was mainly doing a compilation from NOPI last year and then runs in my friends Nissan 200SX (HotNissanBoys' car) so if you don't mind have that in there, I won't have to waste tape. Anyway, PM me if you want a copy

Still, your Corvette is made of fiberglass and has more torque than the Skyline. That along with the fucked clutch made this a truely unfair race. Let's re-run after he gets it fixed and we will see what happens... He shifted, sure, but every time, because the clutch wouldn't engage, it would bog out and dance off the rev limiter. I'm giving out copies of the vid instead of posting up because I don't have the proper software. Sorry guys.

I have no need to make up excuses seing as how I made the situation clear in my first post. As well as I told the person I was racing WHILE I was racing that my clutch was messing up from the very first run. As I said earlier I would love to re-run this race with a working car. While the Z06 may still win, I GUARANTEE it wont be by the heinous amount of last night seeing as I raced a Ztune Z06 w/ mods and it only won by about 4 car lengths. But anyone who knows me knows I dont give a damn, I just want to race and see how I stack up before I start moding.
