I have a guy that wants to race me in a foxbody mustang with a 302 motor, w/bolt-ons, no cam(possible lying) and a claimed 50 shot(yeah right). He wants to run my 240 for 200. I am in the 400whp range. He also agreed to run street tires from a 25mph kick. I will be on bfg's.I dont know much about mustangs but how fair is this race. Oh, he does not know how much power I am making, only assumes there is a turbo upgrade.

I guess if he is lying he could have a cam and a bigger shot of n2o, but on street tires he should be having traction problems anyway from 25mph.Would you take the race?

i think you should be ok... hes got at least a 100-150 shot no one runs a 50. but i think you could still pull a 302.

Crawl under the back of the car. See what kind of fuel lines he has and what kind of pump. That will tell you right there what kind of shot he will be running. As for what motor is in it. It doesn't really matter in those cars. They are only fast when they run large amounts of nitrous. If he has a good shot on it, he'll have -8 or -10 lines with a -6 return. Otherwise, you shouldn't have an issue with him.

From 25mph if hes on drag radials which he probally is, he wont spin, My brothers Coupe ran a 7.2 in the 1\8th with nothing but a 100shot, ported heads, and a cam.

Thats getting really close to being a 10second car and you would never know by looking at it.

Thats getting really close to being a 10second car and you would never know by looking at it.

dont even worry about it....a 302 on spray isn't anything for a 400rwhp s chassis to be worried about.....tell him I'll run him for $100...I'm nowhere near your power level. just check for drag radials...you'll know if he has a big cam, it'll lope, or he'll have the idle turned up.....just make sure it's not a 351 variant engine....that is something to worry about though.

i have 3 mustangs and thats all i drag
for one my stock 93 gt with flows and a 150 shot ran 7.82 in the 1/8 on DR so a stock 302 will run with the right driver
the one thing u want to look for is at the motor look and the heads if there not cast then u might have your hands full
cause on my coupe i have heads, your bolt-ons and a 150 shot and run 6.62

w0rd. yeah charlie.. same cats in that older black mustang that kept trying to run. i dont know if you remember the cat with the black trans am that was out there that night as well.. he got destroyed by mastakillah!.. well not destroyed.. but i bet the guy was pissed about losing to what he thought was a slow srt4 on top of him spraying.

that mustang from the things they said and i can put together (things i wasnt supposed to hear) the mustang is obviously the faster car in their circle. but it only has "intake/headerback exhaust".. there are fat fuel lines in the bottom.. i beleive Jaime (jaimecbr900) peeped at the car for a good bit when we were out at barrett and told me about it... he's spraying.. but honestly.. lets not talk about it in here jeremy.. lets talk it in VIP. i got some comments to make later.

take the race ive ran a 04 sd cobra in my hatch on bfg"s and a 75 shot and beat him so if your turboed and have the hp you say you shouldnt have any problems with him from a roll

considering silviadrftr ran 11.7s consistently with only 330whp, i would think you would be in LOW 11s, high 10s with 400whp after some track time.

hope you got a stash of trannys stockpiled, with that much power youll destroy them, Turbo Dave wenth through 8 of them before they switched to a custom 300zx trans

I wouldn't reccomend running him from a dig man....fox bodies are notorious for hooking off the line...with very minor suspension mods. As far as the guy talking about running 7.20's with a 150shot....well I've seen a STOCK fox body run 7.80's in the 1/8th....it's all in the launch....most of them don't trap for shit.

He would need to be making somewhere around 525rwhp to be a match for your s13....more than likely, he has short gears (4.10's or higher), so he's not going to do much on a highway pull. The tires tell the story....If he's not on drag radials or something sticky on the streets....he can be spraying 1000shot of n2o, if he can't put it to the ground, what good is it?

I say dig or roll....If you get out in front, I don't see him catching you anytime soon...especially from a roll. If he pops the hood, just look for aluminum heads, long tube headers, a big-ass distributor if he's carbed, and see if he's using a fogger or direct port(for fuel injected setup).
