Default White/Black CRX at Barrett 3/4

Man, all I have to say is... wow, that car is quick. He wanted to run me on the hwy from a 65mph roll, and he asked me this at the Walmart up on Barrett, so I said.. sure, no biggie.. I figured it was either boosted or sprayed..

Coming to find out, it had an LS VTEC that was sprayed and some minor internals along w/ bolt-ons... (so said, like 4-5 different people later that night)..

anyways, I ran him 3 different times from 65mph..

first run, I had the jump on him by not even a split 1/100th of a second, and took him by maybe like 2 cars at most by hitting 125mph or so..
second run, we both pulled hard from the 3rd honk, and held headlight-headlight up to about 130-135 or so..
and finally, same thing... except I took it up to about 142 or so, and had him by MAYBE a 1/4-1/2 car length.. all before a blue RB20 S14 blew past us on the shoulder like we were going in reverse.. lol

but ya, I think his name was Kevin or something... Good runs bro! hope ya'll made it back to you're respective parts of town safely!

Yea, that's Kevin... I was riding passanger in his car and have the runs on video... just too tired/lazy to compile 'em. BTW, he didn't spray in any of the runs. I believe he was suprised by your s2k cause he's pulled on 2.0 s2k's with his setup in the past.

Oh shit, thats great man.. Ya, well, I did have my passenger take vids of all 3 runs.. unfortunately, my dumbass accidentally dumped them off the harddrive of my camera... so ya, I'm a little pissed off about THAT.. lol

But, ya.. I didn't know what he all had done to his car to be honest, it was all hearsay.. and I couldn't really tell whether he was spraying or not.. the dude, chris, in that new gold '06 SI was telling me when we got back that he sprayed on all 3 runs.. so, lol.. I dunno shit!

thanks for the info man, and it was a good clean race.. sorry I had to ditch back to Barrett early, I didn't know if u guys were crusing further up 75n any more.. so I had to get going back home.. I was up all day w/ my gf.. lol, so I was tired as fuck..

anyways, ttyl man.. OH, and do u have any idea what the actual mods were on that crx? other than the LS vtec and the nitrous??

    ttyl man, be safe!

man you guys weren't tired after a long day? Couldn't believe you punks just left us while we went to get gas after we ate

but anyways, if Kevin sprays, you will KNOW because you'll see his sexy tailights haha, I'm kidding.

thats kevin, we built his motor. He was NOT SPRAYING because his new solenoid hasnt come in yet. he makes around 170-175whp all motor.

Considering Kevin cant drive, im impressed just playing kevin. but his car shuld take a stock s2000 easily, especially on the highway

nice, nice.. ya, I was certainly impressed..

but, then again.. I hate running my car in a straight line.. anyone can do that. If you have the time, money, and knowledge to build an engine to make it run quickly.. then, of course..

try running around an actual track like sebring, roebling, laguna seca, willow spings, road atlanta, talladega grand prix... then you'll see who 'knows how to drive'

S2000's don't have 240hp for straight line, or higway runs or anything like that..its for around a track

tell Kevin, I'll be up at Barrett next weekend, and also tell him I said great runs!

oh i agree. S2000s and Type-Rs arent drag cars, they are quite possible the best track cars for the money you can buy. ESPECIALLY the s2000. but if kevin cant drivea str8 line, he sure as hell cant run a road course LOL.

nice car, my GF drives an ITR, and her next car shes looking at is a S2k

lol, we all need to have a track day at Talladega Grand Prix, or Roebling... that'd be fun.. lmao

ya, tell you're GF to get an S2000.. if she gets an AP1, make sure to make her get a 2002-2003.. not an 00-01.. because, they have plastic backwindows and convertible top problems... in '02-03 they were corrected and given a glass backwindow and fixed the mechanisms...

if she gets an AP2 like mine, tell her get any year, EXCEPT the new '06... they have shitty drive by wire, VSA vehicle stability assist, and also FUGLY ass solid head rests... lol

    IMO..

    tell her good luck

btw, ya.. I think my 142 hours of professional driving schools have paid off a little bit Skip Barber, Bob Bondurant, and Jim Willis... they all pwn.

Anyway I did the best I could do on a "hwy pull" which there's not much to mess up on except stomp the gas after 3 honks & shift at a certain point (VtecKidd doesn't know what he's talking about ). For some reason the 2.2 S2K seemed to be alot quicker than the 2.0 that I ran & took by 3-4 cars, I say rematch w/ no passengers!

You would have pulled if you didn't have Charles in your car. He makes everything slower.

well you gotta remember they make around 200whp, and they are a little hefty compared to a little CRX. i would think a 180whp crx and a stock 2000 would be pretty close, the S2ks are made for mountain carving and road racing, not interstate pulls

yeah, but s2k gearing for top end acceleration > kevin. My Z is also made for mountain carving and i pull kevin pretty good.

Wow, I didn't think we hit 135-140 on that pull, it was pretty scary at those speeds cause the CRX feels unstable .. I'm not limited to 115 anymore ! With his 6-Speed he had shifted twice compared to my one time. The newer S2K still runs 13.9 at 100 mph according to Road & Track so ... good run TylorWeaver, how about a rematch ! ? !

-Will, we have never done a hwy pull while my car was running perfect so .. yea

Ya, Kevin.. that was fun man.. clean runs! and ya.. if it weren't for my tall-fatass weighing 260lbs, and my passenger weighing about 200lbs.. I think it would have been a complete difference.. lol

same goes for you.. weight REALLY matters for you.

shit, I'm down for another grudge match.. but, would u ever care to run from a ditch? I'm all for the highway run.. but, if you got some balls and wanna try from a stop.. lemme know, I'm all ears

but anyways though.. weight matters ALOT. here, take this 350z vs. S2000 video...... both stock, and each run is with the camera guy in a different car.. so you can CLEARLY see the difference in weight that makes the win.. vs. not.

ya.. again though.. I'd prefer not running my car in a straight line... its not geared for acceleration above 60... then again.. 0-60 in my car is about 5.6, and 1/4mile is [email protected]... I don't focus on straight line.. any idiot can drive a car in a straight line. (granted launches come into effect.. ESPECIALLY for rwd cars..) then again, if you're open to running me around a track.. I'm also VERY game for that. lol

anyways though.. S2000's aren't geared for topend acceleration. They were engineered after honda formula-one cars, and built 100% for handling... then again, they wouldn't make a totally KICKASS car that can out handle most other cars, and have no power?? so they ended up plopping the F20c onto there chopping block, mating up the 6spd transmission.. and they made and designed everything, and coordinated EVERYTHING around the handling of the car.

Last time I checked, that not any on Import manufacturer used 0-60 or topend acceleration for advertisement.. its all handling, luxury, and economy..

    anyways.. endrant. lol

bottom line.. great runs, Kevin.. and keep that shit running hard man.. sounds great, looks great (minus the wheels.. no offense, but you HAVE to lose those!!!) and runs great also!!!!! just keep the shit safe, and don't forget..you don't have to prove to anyone you have a faster crx than theirs... lol!!! You've already proved you "stomped on some AP1 s2000's"... now you're running pretty much even with an AP2.. I'd say thats proof enough.

    lol, ttyl man.

    hmm.. surrrrrrre :jerkit:

lol, jk. ya, I feel ya man.. lol, its straight.. isn't it funny about all these "FADS".. lol, now its down to fucking lamborghini doors, smaller wheels the better, totally common motor swaps, drifting, jdm-ness, and everything few and far in between.. lol

pretty soon, it'll be 'sick' to have a blender ductaped to your hood as a hood ornament/milkshake maker... and also having a leaf blower connected to your intake manifold, with a shopvac sucking at your tailpipe....

OH SNAP son!!!! I can't wait for the next fad!!!!!!!

btw, I'm not dissing JDM, drifting, small/decent sized wheels, or leafblower superchargers..... I've been into all of those since b4 they were fads.. LMAO

wtf? I'm talking about around a track... I don't run anyone on the streets.. EVER. Saturday night was just out of the blue...

besides, its not like I DON'T go to the tracks every other week... what u don't know is that I've also been to nearly every autocross event back in my hometown, since I had my license, and I've been to NUMEROUS track days at Infineon raceway (previously sears point), laguna seca, willowspings, talladega grand prix, roebling, and u can't forget road atlanta...

so, its not like I never run at a track homeboy... keep your shit in your pants

its not like I go 'streetracing'.. in matter of fact, I fucking can't stand it... i'll run someone at a stoplight for fun or fuck with someone on the highway.. but, i know my limits and I won't go and jepordize some innocent persons life by weaving in and out of traffic, or even going fast with even one bit of traffic. lol, I have a VERY safe driving record.. and I DO know how to drive.. so back off.

thanks for looking out for me though...? :jerkit:

you "can't fucking stand it" and at the same time you'll run someone at a stoplight? then obviously you CAN stand it and will take part in it. thats like you saying you don't like McDonald's and having a half eaten Big'n'Tasty in your hand.

    lol^ good anology..

but, seriously though.. when I think of 'street racing' I think of all of the coordinated, run from the cops-style... sort of shit, I used to see back in California..

I was just saying, that going to THAT great of lenghts to 'race' someone.. why don't u just take it to the track..

then again.. what I was saying about running someone at a stoplight.. I'm talking about running them maybe to the top of my second gear.. thats like, what? 57mph?? and in a straightline??

Shit happens, when you go and orchastrate everything, and race in fucking stupid conditions.... like, whipping around cars stupidly and stuff...

but ya, i'm guilty in some cases... then again, I'm against it...? lol

same goes for you.. weight REALLY matters for you.

shit, I'm down for another grudge match.. but, would u ever care to run from a ditch?

I'd say thats proof enough.

    lol, ttyl man.

that S2000 got smoked hehehe.. but it wasnt just weight there pal, that 350z is not stock, that blue 350z belongs to a very well known my350z.com member named Alberto, he has intake/exhaust, plenum, crank pulley and Technosquare Reflash (with dr's i beleive he ran 13.1 @ 107), there is another video where the passenger is in the 350z and the s2000 still gets walked hard up top
