i decided not to bother with the 4l60e
ill prob go with a built 4l80e. hard to fabricate but worth it in the end.
i do all the work my self down to pressing in the valve seats and porting the heads on a CNC machine.
i highly doubt a stock stroke f body with n20 a cam and bolt ons would beat me... i have 600 lbs on him and more hp/tq.. so he must have a bit more than i am aware of. have u had it dynoed? what ya put down?

Stock ls1 cranks support 1200RWHP with no problems and the rods are not a probelm either if you stay around 550RWHP. #7 Piston blows on the Ls1's after that. He also is only runnig a 75 shot for lack of fuel system,colder plugs and a tune.. Hell, I guess I'll throw my two cents here on Brandon's and Del's (<--Note the spelling, that's on his birth certificate....and my old fake i.d.) cars. I don't know exactly what Brandon has just b/c I wasn't around when the motor was put in but its probably a solid 11 second player on D/R's when he jets it up (could be now on a long shot). Now Del's car is a different story, I know exactly what it has, and exactly what it made in both car's. The car is Bad, no ifs ands or butt's about it. Brandon, of course its weak for a 408, if you saw the specs on the cam you'd understand why. The pattern on that thing screams nitrous cam. It probably would make 540-550+ easy with a nasty N/A cam in it. With a 150 wet kit and the old (far less restrictive) mufflers on it that car it would probably make over 700 ft. lbs. Now to make a prediction on the C5 vs C4 race you are going to have to look at a few factors...to begin with, what's the race and what transmission/tire setup does the c4 have? On the interstate, not knowing much about the c4, I'm going with the c5 unless there is some large factor here I'm overlooking. The c5 is flat bad on the highway.
Okay, I'm done... Time for me to go build a fast(er) car now that I'm actually making some decent money, hehe

Bart, just to let you know, in ls cars, nitrous cams are big.. turbo and blower cams are small with big lift.. I can give you a couple of ideas if you want , just so your "facts" are facts next time...
So you're telling me a dual pattern nitrous cam that inherently gives up a bit on the top end due to the increased lobe separation and exhaust duration is going to run with a purpose built high lift N/A grind cam? A blower/turbo cam WILL be weak -- and a purpose built nitrous cam is gonna be pretty much as strong as an N/A cam until the top 1/3rd or so of the RPM band -- and that's where these peak numbers everyone likes to quote so much come from. Go throw a .600+ lift, high rpm cam with agressive timing and fuel map in Del's motor and watch it pick up...or maybe Ls1's operate on a different set of physics than the rest of the earth.Originally Posted by BCRAFTY

What i was saying is that 98% of nitrous cams are ground for a duel purpose use... I know what del's specs are and it's a na/nitrous cam. Don't get me wrong, del's car is fast as fuck.
