nice what did it take for the swap? motor tranny - axles - ecu . any major fabrication? Post some pics a friend of mine just bought a 97 coupe, and wanted to see about the same swap.

oh my bad SRT-4...better? but as for what it took for the swap im not really sure but it was around 2500 paid out to finish not including motor so it was pretty spendy but definetly a fun ride very quick. and correct me if im wrong but the GT is not a v6...

The engine is just a 2.4L turboed. It isn't an 05 SRT4 engine. IF it was, this guy would be a total fucking idiot to have spent that money on the same thing you can buy through parts. Later, QD.

Aight than , in that case it looks exactly like the DOHC motor, just boosted... The 2.4 looks identical to the 2.0, the only thing different is the block its alot bigger. so noone can really tell unless they knew. What kidn of manifold is he using?

im sorry but that is one ugly looking car. Granted its proably fast but i would take the gt over it any day, because its just a nicer looking car. For each their own i guess. Some neons are really nice when they are done right

nice! sounds like it would be hella hard to get that kinda power to the ground. hope hes running a LSD (if QD is right and its only a boosted 2.4). whats it run as far as an FMU? turbo?

Until you can bring this car to my garage and let me look at it I am going to say BS on it having an 05 SRT-4 swap. What tranny is he using? If he using the SRT tranny how much of the frame did he notch to make it fit and who built the custom axles he would need? What standalone system is he using to run this motor? If he is not running a standalone system how did he go about wiring the SRT electronics up? If he bought to motor off ebay then I am guessing he did not get the body harness which he needs to splice into the 1st gen harness. I am guessing at the most he has a turbo 2.4 swap with an srt valve cover. If you want me to put holes in your story anymore I would be glad to. If you want me to tell you how to put the engine in your car I would be glad to. I can ask over a dozen more questions that could prove this is not an SRT swapped 1st gen.

If you have any questions on the 1st gen neon go ahead and ask, I do have the answer. PM and we will set up a time to validate your claim of an 05 swapped 1st gen, I am sure you won't do that though.

What I want is proof of this car being a SRT swapped 1st gen. Tell the owner to come on here and answer questions then. The problem I have is people lying and talking shit. The whole 05 motor is the first thing to raise doubt. Where did the 05 motor come from, kinda funny to have a brand new motor so soon. Show me an engine shot. I wonder if this is JLM's old car that was for sale on ebay?? hmm if it is it's an 03 swap that Jason and NEMO built.

Xtreme Auto Salon Seattle washington 2600 cash for to install swap rewire everything nothing needed to be notched or cut away no power steering or AC for more clearance. I was wrong its not an 05 its an 04. its not anyones car off ebay he bought it new in 98 and did everything himself beside motor swap. should clear up some for ya

His buddy got owned i hope he didnt pay 3200 for an "srt" swap. First off you could build a hellified 2.4 for that much its prolly an 2.4 with srt shit on it,(internals, turbo etc.) Your buddy isnt smart i would(well i am) have built a 2.4 and turbo it with a better turbo than a 14g. Get over it your buddy got served and neonracer just served you (i love that movie)

1st gen neons are no joke built up. I have a buddy, "Mike SRT-4" on the board. In his 1st gen(145hp) spank our buddies S2000. I dunno about 10 car lengths and all that on a mustang. But the weight of the 1st gen, major motor work, turbo It should be really fast.

I once read about a 1st gen with an SRT motor that was a "mule" for "D.C.". I don't think it made it onto the street; ie no VIN and sent to the crusher.

I just love the pictures of this car. It looks like the fastest car on the planet. Where are the pics? Better yet bring the car to me and let me see. I owuld say at best he a 2.4l with an SRT turbo set-up or even a 2.0 DOHC with an SRT set-up. I doubt he would be using a SRT head, I don't think he would be smart enough to figure out how to make it owrk on an older block. The blue car is actually street legal but the Mohler's car and Len's old car were not. I will say this beating a mustang by 10 car lengths isn't the most uncommon thing but what I don't understand is how all of a sudden the car just pulled away sounds like the driver got tired of racing and let off the gas. The SRT doesn't magically make an extra 100 hp to allow it to walk away at 100 mph.
