I know crafty personally and he is a cool guy. Who knows what's done to who's car. NOBODY knows. Everyone lies about what's done to their cars to either make them really fast and they're not or make them seem really slow and they are really fast. I don't know exactly what is done to crafty's car but I do know that it is not slow. I saw it run at dallas and it did not run bad at all. I'm not going to say what it ran, he can if he wants to. As far as john goes (v10slowboy) I met as well and he is a nice guy and is not cocky at all about his car. My car will be up and running soon and I can run some of these 9 second imports that all the people talk about on here. Crafty's car is a camaro and I love camaros. So don't hate on them. Ever since I was 16 I have always had a f-body. Also it's a lot harder to get a 9sec car down the track than to get a 200hp car through some turns. If anyone is wondering how it would feel to be in a 9sec car go to your moutain runs and fight the car through the turns. Thats how it feels trying to get a 9 sec car to stay straight in the quarter. That's an easy example to tell most peolpe on here have never been in a 9 sec car. Also John v10slowboy looking foward to running the viper. I had a little bad luck with a head gasket but it will be back up and running in mid january. BTW My car is slow .

If you mean slow by disrupting the earths rotation when you launch, then ya i guess your car is slow......

haha, oddly enough the fastest thing I've ridden in is a 10 second '69 Camaro. But I don't understand why it would be hard to control a high powered car from a launch, considering your objective is to hook up and not spin. I could see it being very hard to control if you constantly loosing traction, but a good driver is going to be modulating the throttle to keep the car from doing so.

As for my mountain runs, I'd imagine it'd be a lot scarier for one of you guys than it is me simply due to the fact that you'll be accelerating faster, having to brake earlier and having to constantly modulate the throttle mid corner to keep the car from going sideways. One of the benefits on the Corolla's light weight /low power combination is I can continue accelerating hard into the corner, after the people I'm running with have had to back off to keep from spinning.

It'd be pretty cool if we could organize a mountain run with a nice diversity of cars (Import and Domestic) sometime in the near future. It'd be great to see some Vipers tearing up the mountains.

Yeah, because the Corolla's light weight/low power keeps you from reaching anywhere near a high speed to loose control or spin tires.

Kidding... I know slow cars can spin tires. Matt does it in our 4 cyl Ranger all the time.

This video is old, the guy runs 11 flat on the stock engine, so you'll still race any boosted G35 or 350Z? While you say the owners spend so much to never see 11's its a known fact that a properly tuned twin turbo G35 or 350Z can and will run consistent high 11's with a decent driver (Matter of fact we have one here on the IA forum) I have nothing but respect for high powered domestics but I swear the few ignorant owners f*ck up my whole perception of that crowd.

And I'm sure most of us would not want to line up with V10sloboy from what I hear.

Actually if you'd like, after I get my new shocks, struts, LSD rebuild kit and a few other parts I'll take you up on this. No psychotic trying to pass each other bullshit, but two runs one car behind the other to see how well the car in the rear can keep up.

^^ 6 speed or auto..... This car weighs in slightly more than a stock viper because of the turbo setup. http://www.garyjavo.com/videos/EDITE.../CHADS7.99.wmv

How did he get a 250 shot through the one nozzle on the Viper? Through that single nozzle you can't get proper fuel distribution to each cylinder, especially 10. That Viper was not spraying a 250 shot.

The guy posting the video did not know anything about the viper. It was a bolt on viper with a 150 wet kit, stock tires and gear.

For all the cocky Supra guys and a +1 for the F-Body.

Poor, poor Supra. Never even had a chance. Guess he had to keep racing him to make sure that ass was getting handed to him.

I know a guy that has that same setup on a white F-Body. Except more than 13 lbs of boost. Hehehe.

150 sounds a bit more believable. The most you can spray through a single nozzle is about 175 and that's pushing it.

They use 2 nozzles for both intakes making it capable to hold up to a 300 but it is much better to go direct port when getting close to 200.

If you spray anything over a 250 with anything less than a direct port then the fuel puddles up in the intake causing an instant nitrous backfire. Resulting in blowing the intake off the car. Just learned a lot about nitrous for my own reasons.

That was probably due to the lack of competent shops in the area more than the turbo kit itself unless he did not do his research. So because he felt it was a waste all of them are eh?

You're a joke, and sometime after christmas I'll happily run your fast Camaro down a mountain run.

ive pnly read up to page 2 of this thread its pathetic already
    facts:

    1. driving takes skill
    2. drag racing takes skill
    3. "circuit" or "twisty" or "mountain" racing takes skill
    4. not all american cars are fast in turns, not all are slow.
    5. not all Imports are fast in straight, not all are slow

it matters how you mod your car, and if its matched up right, personel prefrence, all thatt bullshit takes different routes

    who cares tho?

i mean i know ive seen great Civic's that ive envied
ive seen great Firebirds too, and ive lusted them also

its all about what you want, but the thread starter is being an ass, your a cocky bastard so far

i mean i just saw a vid where a TT 350Z killed a Kirebird Formula

    and a Camaro z28 Killed a Supercharged 350z

    so who gives?

but right out of the box

lets face it, most american sports cars will kick a jap sports car ass

like take two similarly priced cars, when they were sold together

Chevy Camaro z28 and an Acura Integra Type R
win in straight win in curves

but this whole argument will be mute in 5 seconds, when someone posts a pic of a mustang with a full cage and a race suspension that will hand an EVo its ass

then an Import Guy will post a pic of a Honda F1 car.....................

evo and sti for the win

    easy speed

*edit: well enough to satisfy, and its safeer then RWD and FWD, removes the skill part by very little, lol

but youd be alot more confident in those rather then a civic Si or a Camaro z28 at a high speed road course
