[QUOTE=v10sloboy] Slow people always want to race in the curves. QUOTE]

not really, but anyone can go fast in a straight line, real drivers actually use

the stearing wheel for more than parking the car. Personally i think drag

racing is boring and it takes more skill to take a - 200 hp car through twistes

than a + 500 hp car in straight line. I mean the worlds best drivers dont race

straight. i.e. F1, F3, DTM, Alms, Supergt, manufacturers dont invest into

making a sporty car that goes fast straight. Even the new Zo6 is setting

good times on the nurburgring north course but it will be worthless gains as

all the "good ol boys" will use it to brag about straight line speed and never

use the car in anger in corners. Dont make this the slow guys like corners

debate cuase the slow guys actually DRIVE the cars, you know shift, brake,

    and steer.

now really, cant speak on the drive 500 hp part but i still think road racing

takes more skill than going straight. what if you had to take your 500hp thru

road atlanta"s S's. That 500hp will seem much worse going around a corner

and accelerating out without losing control.

my money says that he is pushing a lot more than 500 hp, never the less that was badass. this all started with some dumass in a 350z, prob stock. no comments should have been made saying that every import driver will do the same supid shit. Its cool that you an make mad hp with v-10's. i have much more respect for the GN's and TTypes crowd making 10sec passes with 4 less cylinders and a lot less $. just my

If we are talking street cars... I think it takes much more skill to drive a 200hp car @ road atlanta than a 500hp car at the drag strip.

You take your avg. driver and put them in a 500hp car thats setup for drag racing and I bet the times will be much closer than if you took that same group of people to road atlanta and put them in a 200hp car. If any of you guys know Mel Meyers. He went 1:39's @ road atlanta in his 200rwhp na e36 m3 street car. Very few drivers can do that. I've seen many more drivers go 10's and 9's in street cars.

Proper tires (ET streets) on a 500hp car should hook after the 60ft so the difference b/w drivers is in the launch imo. A driver @ road atlanta has SOOOOO many more variables to deal with.

Anyways, I'm not bitching about oh I'll get you in the twistys, just been driving oval tracks and road courses w/ race cars and street cars for 10 years and wanted to add my .02 That said let me know when you want to do some pulls! I want to test out the new setup. I'll be out of town till Jan 7th but anytime after that will work for me.

you are probably right about RA. I was really just referring to the street in general..ie the mountains or whatever. My old turbo laser made 200 whp and it was easy to drive in the mountains..not sure what it would do at RA as i've never been there. Now i would say taking a 500 hp car in the turns is harder then driving a 500 hp car down the dragstrip.

My car is down right now while i do some additional tuning and mods but we will get together soon and do those pulls.
