Not about mainly power. 350z vs. viper who won. the 350z. Plus if your car is setup for drag,it a compllete drifferent story in supenison

If we are talking street cars... I think it takes much more skill to drive a 200hp car @ road atlanta than a 500hp car at the drag strip.

You take your avg. driver and put them in a 500hp car thats setup for drag racing and I bet the times will be much closer than if you took that same group of people to road atlanta and put them in a 200hp car. If any of you guys know Mel Meyers. He went 1:39's @ road atlanta in his 200rwhp na e36 m3 street car. Very few drivers can do that. I've seen many more drivers go 10's and 9's in street cars.

Proper tires (ET streets) on a 500hp car should hook after the 60ft so the difference b/w drivers is in the launch imo. A driver @ road atlanta has SOOOOO many more variables to deal with.

Anyways, I'm not bitching about oh I'll get you in the twistys, just been driving oval tracks and road courses w/ race cars and street cars for 10 years and wanted to add my .02 That said let me know when you want to do some pulls! I want to test out the new setup. I'll be out of town till Jan 7th but anytime after that will work for me.

you are probably right about RA. I was really just referring to the street in general..ie the mountains or whatever. My old turbo laser made 200 whp and it was easy to drive in the mountains..not sure what it would do at RA as i've never been there. Now i would say taking a 500 hp car in the turns is harder then driving a 500 hp car down the dragstrip.

My car is down right now while i do some additional tuning and mods but we will get together soon and do those pulls.

depends. american cars other than the Corvette/viper just were not made to handle period. i would disagree with you. the twisties require more skill. but you are also gapping it big time.. 200hp -500hp, drag racing is cool.. can be fun. but lets face it.. bottom line.. real drivers do just that.. DRIVE (actually turn wheel more than a couple of degrees left or right) .. make it say 300hp twisty car vs 400 hp drag car.. hands down it would take a hell of alot more skill to drive the 300hp car in the turns ( considering you want a lap time worht the time and money) than driving the 400hp car down the track, done both.

overall its a dumb argument, some cars make more power than others, some handle better than others, some are easier to mod, you are comparing apples and oranges.

bottom line: the Z is a truer sports car, the camaro will never compare to a Z as far as driver feel, handling, the overall car in general. the Vq35de will never have the grunt of the LS1 nor will it make power as easy. the Z was not made for drag racing it was made for turns. the Camaro is not made for turns, its made for drag racing.

edit: what the fuck is wrong with me... i didnt start shit this time.. oh well.... check it.. the Z is an enthusiast car the camaro is for your typical american "i think im a bad ass" teenager. the only reason you might see teenagers around with Z's.. its simply because of the cars looks. it does look better than a camaro.

My post wasn't made towards anyone directly... sheerly just 100% opposite of what he posted... the last 2 lines were made outta personal experience.

I never called myself the Viper Slayer, other people do because I'm not afraid to race 'em on their own territory... from a roll on the highway. At the same time, I damn well know what they're capable of once boosted or bottle-fed.

Oh, and I've seen a 100% stock turbo Evo 8 run high 10's. In the end, who cares, cause that's not us... right? =]
