Please don't use a speedometer as a valid reference. and don't use the metric tire size in a gear calculator either. Every tire that says "205/50/15" is different. go measure the "rollout", one rotation of the tire on the ground by putting two pieces of tape down. measure it, plug it into a gear calculator if you really want to see how fast you go in each gear. of course slicks or other bias ply tires that deform won't work with that method but radials do.

    edit:
or use a gps device if you're a baller like vteckidd

Just saw your edit... go measure the rollout on your "24 inch" DRs and divide by pi. I'd be curious to see how they turn out. mine come to about 23.5 inches when fresh, 23.2 when worn a bit.

ok so it's only a 3.3% difference from 24.0 to 23.2, but at 120mph that is a 4mph error in the calculation

MT claims it to be 24 inch so I went with them.. At the time of the race they were brand new!!

well they may be 24" but you'll never know until you measure them. if you do get a 75" rollout then props to MT for being accurate. from what I've seen most tire companies are not.

Give or take .5 of an inch on tire size my car has much longer gears than a K.. At the time when I thought of this build, I had kool aid in mind!! GSR tranny and a 150 shot on a 24 inch tire seems to work nice on the street, Now thinking at this present day I'd rather do a 22 inch tire on the 4.4!!
My setup is out dated, not an excuse, just lost interest over the years so nothing changed..

IF i was to stay All Motor than the tranny choice and final drive would change!! It's a lot different on the track..

I could be cool like Mike and get online then post a bunch of combo's that people run but that's not me.. :P

I have sprayed almost everything I owned!!
A complete All Motor car would not need those long gears, nor would it need the big ass tire.. If I'm under 300hp, hell even 275 hp the 24 is to much for the NA setup.. At most I'd go 23 with the ITR and 4.9.. Just have to see!!

Now I would like to go run on a 22in to see times, but I had some issues the other day and the red bubble is down!!

Well we agree on one thing. I need to try something like a 23.5 on my car NA to see what happens. or just spray the shit out of it on the 24.5s. Either way I'll be in 5th through the traps... but its not a turbo car so I don't think it matters

if they can keep their car together.

One thing is for sure about the new york boys, they better be DEEP in the 11s or in the 10s if they have a K24 in that thing. Anything short of that and its a dissapointment for your K Series drag car to be losing to a B Series CRX

Well mike, unlike me and 1civic, they dont really talk shit like that so if the blue k24 hatch they have only does a 12sec pass, you really cant get on them now can you? Just know this thou mike, NOT talking shit is a strategy in itself!!!! So stretch and his crew is not slick by any means, just playing the "quiet" role for as long as they can

theyve been pretty vocal about "bringing the street racing scene" back in atlanta , basically insinuating that the new York stlye of racing is superior to donw here. Or basically saying there is nothing down here.

I disagree with that. The ONLY people i see making videos and racing are ATL natives. I dont see any of the NY2ATL speed people doing anything. Unless im missing it.

Furthermore, the guy has said he will only run his car on full out slicks (which i already explained good luck finding a street race in ATL with another NA car willing to roll out on full slicks). And then the only track event i heard the car go to it didnt even make a pass.

Im sorry but i wouldnt be scared of a youtube video of a car with no times that A) doesnt street race B) cant make a pass at the track

Im sure they are nice guys, and im not knocking their abilities as a shop. Im merely stating i dont see what all the hype is about.

Well when you are basically going around saying you are the big dog in town, and basically have guys like bobby going around touting how good you are, yes, it better be FAST. As stated before Stretch has said how weak the ATL scene is, and he hopes to somehow resurrect it or do something with it.

Like i said, sure hes a nice guy, im sure hes a great shop owner/mechanic. But i give respect to people that produce results, and so far all ive seen is a lot of talking

Saying you have no idea what these guys are capable of (what does that mean). I mean given the time and resources and money you have no idea what im capable of lol. I sure hope they have half as nice of cars as all the hype is about . Im ready to see some fast cars, gives me a reseason to do work (which i am doing now but because of disco monkey ). I was realy dissapointed when they didnt get to make a pass shit sucked. Bobby you seem to be pretty confident of your on building abilitys but all ive heard lately is about stretch and his cars . Are you building your car or just going to hang with them and see what they do ? Im not hating hell all ive got is a slow all motor hatch just interested in whats going on and what to look forward to in the near future.

LOL! i tried to tell stretch the same thing. Maybe he'll find some guys in the v8 crowd that will go all out on slicks on the streets but in the honda crowd, nah. LOL! i was in autozone the other day getting spark plugs for my daily crx and the clerk behind the counter said "hey, what are u running in ur crx?, my cousin has B16 with a AEM intake and DcSports header on his motor in his crx and ITS FAST!" LOL!!!! So multiply him by 100-1000 other honda guys with the exception of a few and thats basiclly where we're still at.

Stretch is gonna get REALLY bored if he thinks he'll find a "ny street racing scene" here or try to create one, because when reality sets in, i.e poeple here STILL have to spend serious money to make their cars fast plus put in the seat time with their car so i think he's gonna be disapointed in what he sees. He's gonna have to shift from street racing to going to the track down here.

Give it time Vteckidd, unlike you I'm not a baller so I am doing what I can to get out.. I want to have fun, and could really careless what you think of the times I put down though..

As for their car/s, thats for them to speak on.. I helped to get the car out, but shit happen.. No biggy, thats racing!! I will continue to help if needed, these events can use as many cars as possible..

Again I'm cool with anyone until it's get personal, unlike you I'm still able to run a car, fast or not.. I'm trying to supporting what little scene we have left!!! A little shit talk never hurt but keep it clean!!

I do have 2 cars that can run down the 1/4.. Nether are ready so I made the choice to help the NYC guys, I would love to make it out on the 22nd but I need to install intake, get it tuned and find some 22in slicks!

I was deep in the all motor scene years ago. I was part of the street racing hey day with many others. There was about 30 of us that always were out. Then nytryder took over and cars got really fast.

I don't have to rep anything to have an opinion. I'm retired I've been to jail enough times and paid more tickets than I care to count. I also dont have the luxury of getting racing and reckless driving tickets because I could lose my security clearance at my job. So I will put around in my 4 door sedan. That's life.

I stand by my statements .

Hey EFilly, are you ready to run all motor against that old Impala yet? He's still running the same old 355ci motor in his over 4000lb car. Just asking, since you didn't want to go up against him last time, but it sounds like you have an all new build ready now.

I don't have to rep anything to have an opinion. I'm retired I've been to jail enough times and paid more tickets than I care to count. I also dont have the luxury of getting racing and reckless driving tickets because I could lose my security clearance at my job. So I will put around in my 4 door sedan. That's life.

Your a baller though, buy a truck and tow dolly/ trailor, then you have no worries!! I don't care to street race, but I still want to race at the track.. I lost interest, but I'm still here and I'm 30.. It's a hobby like anything else, but to me racing go-carts and RC cars got old.. Go buy you another car and come play!!

I'm not a baller and I have never claimed to be. I hope you realize that was all just sarcasm. I drive an affordable $15000 car. It's an Acura. Not a BMW.

I could go buy another car, but hondas don't interest me anymore. Its boring. I did all there was to do to a street car. I've never been a track person , never was my talent. I was good at lining up on a back road and winning street races. Track racing is a whole different animal and I was never that good at it. It's like basketball, I was awesome in high school playing pick up games, but when I played varsity(2nd string) I was never that good.

I have other interests now that don't involve cars. I dont have a passion for it anymore.

Doesn't mean I can't discuss and put my .02 in

    RESULTS GUYS RESULTS!

There's no results, only talk. "wait till you see what we got" doesn't impress me.

If I had my supercharged Crx I would have already called out the midnight hatch, and I'm surprised Mosely hasn't already. But I don't, I have a slow j series.

No problem. I understand, you only go for a GW. He doesn't know what you have either, but he's willing to run for a little money anyway. At $4/gal, no one is running for free.
