chouston, I have new motor mounts and a new tune going on over the next two weeks, and shopping for a new transmission now... you are falling farther behind. If I get a new tranmission, all that will be left for me is an aftermarket k-member, and some rear disc brakes.

With drums, if you break an axle, it can come out and tear up the side of your car. Rear discs will hold it in place, so you can feel a little more confident about launching harder. They do more than just stop, they act like C-clip eliminators on the part of keeping the axle from popping out - without the leaks from C-clip eliminators.

I have a bolt-on 5.0, and you backed down from me, so you can't be fast yet. See, not a hater, just added a "yet", implying that someday you will be fast.... just don't see it right now (yet).
Stock 95 Cobras run low-mid 14's, so you might have a chance against one. It's easier to launch than the 96 Cobra, which is usually around 14.0, so you might have a chance against those also. Hardly leaving them quivering though.

I think driver,weight of that cobra it's got a heavy ass roll bar and rims on it. I know I can hold it off in the quarter mile he might get me top side though if we run it all out. I thinks it's still on stock tune.

ha my vert ran 14.0 with barely anything done. Now that I have made a few trips to summit I'm alot faster now so I'm ready for him.... I will get 13s easy now

Well ima go ahead and give out my mod list jus for the hell of it. Cai,off road h pipe, trick flow 75 mm throttle body and plenum,catback exhaust summit brand with magnaflow muffler, diablo predator tune...... Gears after tax time... So what do you think Mr. Vert and japan?

what gears are you gonna go with? no nitrous?
I vote 4.10's at least. The car is already going to be down on power cause its a 2v so you might as well take advantage of all the gearing you can. with 4.10's or even 4.30's you wont run out of 4th in 1/4 unless you are trapping well into the 120's.
It's still his daily driver. 3.73 is a better street gear.
With 4.30's he would limited 4th gear to about 105mph.
With 4.11s, it would be about 111mph.
With 3.73s he woudl have about 122mph limit.
All of that is at 6000rpm in 4th gear, and a 26" tire.
If he ran a 28" tire, he could go with a 4.10.

Thats right I was thinking about 4v cars. I forgot 2v's dont rev out as far as 4v's. As far as streetability goes 4.10's would be fine. I guess that extra 1000rpms I get really does make a difference cause Im trapping 111 and still got rpm to go with 4.10's. Im sure the factory speedo is not 100% accurate but my car will do 130mph in 4th with 4.10's fwiw
