    In a race against a 96 vette Z06 (auto) vs a 91 240sx with an Rb20det pushing about 345rwhp and weighing around 2700lbs.

    someone correct me if i'm wrong...but...i'm pretty sure the z06 came out in 2000 or 2002 and only come in a manual....unless the guy is running around in a c4 vette with a z06 motor (if he is....then that is kinda cool )

    haha turb box... i happen to have a 96..

    all cars are turd boxes... unless modified...

    imports(not includin ferrari, porsche, maserati etc) are even gayer because they are all slow as shit from the factory.
    if we want to have a factory drag race... z06's would be 90% of imports.. with exception to like high end ferraris and porsches. and the viper.

    but the new z06... itll take the viper off the top.

    but id say youd beat an all stock z06. def!

    the rb20 would definetly win if its a highway roll.

    345 hp in a 240 car can beat many cars with more power on the highway ,

    from a dig, if the vette were to run drag radials and no2

    and the 240 lacked an lsd and had shitty tires, then the vette could win.

    also 96 was a bad vette year, last zr1 was made in 95 and the

    first zo6 with 385 hp came in 99-00 years. so if a 96 has the zo6 ls6 engine,

    it had to be transplanted in to it.

    I agree! I was not tryin to talk bad about your ride. I had a 2000 frc that was a turd box until i sold my left nut to make it a little faster. It would stomp a Z06 in the ground but my viper is faster and alot more fun to drive.

    It's really according to the setup of the race. Are you going from a dig or a roll. Does the vette has N20(which most normally do)? Does your car have any type of LSD? As for the 345 whp, where did you have the rb20det dynoed or is that a guesstimate?

    Sorry about the z06. It 96 vette auto,(not a zo6) my bad. Anyway my friend is the one with rb20det and I was telling some about it and this jerk come up and tells me there is no way it would beat his vette. So I was just wondering.

    P.s I drive a 1996 240sx with coilovers and Advans Super Gen.2 rims.

    I believe the 96 Corvette base came with the LT1 350... which is an "ok" motor... but definatly nothin' to be scared of heh.. So basically if your friends 240 has 350 at the wheels, he shouldn't have any problem with a stock 96 vette... No offense to any chevy guys in here.... but the LT1 isn't a very intimidating motor = )

    the 240 should win, in 96 the vette had 345 hp i think. The nissan should be able to beat it pretty easily

    the 1996 came in two kinds

    lt1
    and
    lt4

    lt1 was rated like 300/300 i think
    and lt4 was rumored to really have about 360 ish but was only rated at 330 because it was more powerful than the ls1.
    but their is a big difference between the 2.

    Funny that the only vette you are giving credit to is a stock Z06 with nitrous and long tubes. Not much compared to many I've seen. Don't get me wrong. Marshall had a nice car. But it was still simple against many other Corvettes.

I know where a 383 stroker LT4 is sitting in a car and I also have a LS1 with bolt ons. And the LS1 with bolt ons would be damn near beside it. I'm not trying to be mean or anything but LT1s are old news and can't make any power compared to average, everyday LS1s and new LS2s.

    But I remember your car being strapped to the dyno at Lamar Walden's.

    Lt1's in the vettes never went below 300. The f-bodies are a different story.

    there was no z06 in 1996, z06 only comes in manual and the first year of it was 2001 with 385hp, ran a 13.0 stock, 2002 had 405hp and ran 12.5 stock. A 96 vette auto would be a base auto with lt1, 300hp, 340trq.

    A lot of misinformation in these threads.

    The Z06 first appeared in 1998 with 385 hp and ran 12.9s stock. In 2000 it was upped to 405hp and ran 12.4s.

    The C6 Z06 runs low 11's stock. How could any true enthuesiast dis that? And for 20k less than a viper, or half the price of the new GT40.

    umm btw everyone, Z06's don't come in automatic transmissions... and also there were no Z06's in 1996.. that was the C4 model. In 1995 there was a 405bhp version of the vette called the ZR-1, but that was also manual only. Just hoping that might clear up some stuff...
