Apples to apples. New hardware vs 7-8 year old hardware. Obv you could buy a gen 2 viper and beat the camaro... but it isn't because the 450bhp 650 pound behemoth V10 is a superior piece of hardware to the LS3, the viper is simply a vastly superior platform. The 1997 GTS in silver with blue stripes is one of my favorite cars EVER, but comparing a 10 year old GT to a modern 4 seater muscle car is kind of an irrelevant comparison. The LS3 is a far superior motor then what was put in the Gen II viper, but thats what 14 years of research get you. Again, I was only stating the engine is a gem, the camaro as a package leaves a lot to be desired.

LOLOl the viper engine is "vastly superior"? It's a 8.0L Pushrod engine. How is it superior? It is a 450hp/450-500tq engine. And they can be found for around 30K now.
I'm not the one to compare, you said LS3 > ANY 65K and under car. Wellllll a TEN year old out dated car is well under that and no where near the camaro's technology.
I am not in a pissing contest with you b/c your argument was pretty decent. You're not a fan boy, but you did contradict yourself a wee bit. But I do agree, the LS3 or LS line is a sick platform. A very well thought out engine and that has an immense amount of potential.
I'm a mopar boy.Looking for a SRT-8 Jeep right now.

No, the viper engine is not vastly superior. Re-read what I wrote, I think you took it out of context. The LS3 puts down 475 to the tires with a cam and headers which is rather impressive, seeing as thats a rough 100-125 rwhp increase for roughly $1250, and it remains reliable and streetable. When I said any 65k under, I meant any new car 65k and under. The only motor I can think of that would have a chance is the Turbo 335 motor, which isn't even a fair comparison because it's FI (and still not as powerful).
