If both of those cars were on the gas the SS must have had either a stroker, some big ass pills in the kit, or both... That Zo6 is lighter, bigger bottom end, more aero, and from the look of the wheel setup on the SS, better traction. Nice runs though...

Holy shit, that is a c6 Zo6. I didn't even know they had hit the streets yet. I thought they were still a month or two away. This guys already got a nitrous setup on one. sheesh. I would have lost some money if I was betting on that race. 505 hp to start with from a 427ci small block and a nitrous setup. Something doesn't seem right with that vid.

BTW there have been some rumors inside GM that the c6 Z is actually putting out closer to 550 flywheel HP.

    My thoughts---

round 1- Z06 on motor> SS on motor
round 2- SS on bottle >Z06 on motor

Just like someone said above. The Z is lighter, more aero, and on the bottle! The Z from the factory is putting @430-440 at the wheel. Add the LT's for another 15-20rwhp EASY!!! If he was running a 150 shot as I would assume with dual bottles that would put him @575-600rwhp/625-650rwtq without sweating.

If that was a stock 346ci SS w/ cam, bolt ons, and bottle- 125-150 shot it just doesnt make since. Let's say 525rwhp on bottle out of the SS, and it weighs 500-600 lbs heavier from a highway roll.

Just my .02 cents on the vid. Would like to hear the facts from the two owners.

What a beautiful QS Z though. Those lines are amazing. I can see a good difference b/t reg C6 and C6 Z06 body in my eyes.

^^^Absoluteyly, as soon as they moved to the side of the hatch I knew it was a C6 Z. Like I said I thought they had another month or so to come out.

Thanks Mike for the info. I went ahead and checked out ls1tech.com to get the low down. Here is what I found:

    Z06 made 490's on motor
100 shot- but 150 shot was mentioned at some point b/t conversation before race so who knows.
Z06 burned out the plugs b/c car was not tuned properly

Here is a quote from the SS owner- PRETTY DAMN FUNNY!!! OWNAGE!

    SS owner:
I totally agree, the Z06 should have spanked me. BUT, the shop that modded the car didn't know what they were doing. They said they only put the nitrous kit on the car to come beat me. Guess that didn't work out too well lol.

Oh yeah, get this, on the little message center in the Vette's dash, the mechanic programmed "TRMIN8R KILLER" into it. Hahaha, should've put "KILLED BY TRMIN8R" LOL

The message center read out was just plain stupid. That SS is a strong car and would have taken a very tuned Z06 to pull it. Obviously that shop was clueless and thought bolting nx was all you had to do.

They've been out a couple weeks at least....I've seen two of them up at Bill Heard on Barrett Pkwy. They were on the back lot as they were customer pre-orders (as all of them are at this point) waiting to be picked up. My friend has a buddy who works up there that called us when they came in so we could come check them out. One was quicksilver and the other was the E. Blue color that carried over from the C5's. Next to a regular c6 they look SO much more mean. The width at the rear with the factory stretched fenders and 325's (I think) out back looks sick. Of course I do think they look like damn 4x4's stock...
