I have over 28k on my car, you know is not as easy as slapping a turbo and hitting the streets, the chassis has to be reinforced and so on....
AND then you have what a 240 with a SR20? That might be what 6 to 7k maybe.
Plus I don't know your skills, not saying that you don't have them but I ignore your background; besides even when I hit the track I ran with instructors or club racers.
So the whole tandem thingy sounds like a bad idea to me right now!! Maybe once we see each other skills we'll do it then.

How did we go from Street racing to challenging people to gay tandem races?
Look 1st at all I'm waiting in new pistons for my engine, so the car is not drift worthy right now.
2nd IF I ever do it, you will have to sign me a check for 28k, and I'll sign you one for 7k have no issues w/that. This way if you hit me and I can't recover totaling my car, I can at least built It again. And if I hit you, you can get the car repair as well.
3rd and main reason why I won't Is plain and simple, I have no clue who you are, all I know is what you told me which is that you snitch on people, and a couple of pics getting sideways.....
So that alone shots the odds towards "I shouldn't get involve with this guy"....
I do stupid shit sometimes, but I don't do stupid shit when a stranger asks me to...

I think we can agree that drifting has much more risk involved than straight line drag racing.
Shit can happen in any instance, but Drifting, especially with AMATEURS, is very easy to turn bad QUICK.
If i had a car with $30k invested in it, i wouldnt drift it against some S14 lol. And YES i would be scared. Scared of some $800 S14 hitting my E36 lol

I don't know but I think Ive been in motorsports longer than most, if beening born in a familly with a racing team doesn't qualify me as been around for a long time that I don't know what will.......
I had a couple of years of doing it on the streets (around 9yrs), so I've been around but always chose who I race pretty well.

no but you arent an asshat either. I know you can drive your car and if something bad starts to happen i trust you know how to react to save it.
Some random guy challenges me to a street drift, theres all kinds of bad shit that can happen. The point of tandem is to get as close to the lead car as possible, to get as close to uncontrolled as possible.
Street racing is point A to point B. Pretty much as long as you dont get squirelly and stay in it, or brake 10 feet before a concrete barrier, nothing is going to happen. (away from traffic)
Drifting puts 2 cars on each others bumpers and asks you to go as fast as you can as out of control as you can . Ive been to pro competitions , theres wrecks EVERY round.
How many wrecks were at IFO last weekend ? :P

* The car's "worth" I'll have to disagree. Bringing the cars "worth" makes ZERO sense. I've seen junkyard EF hatches BURN ROAD COURSES TO THE GROUND against Vettes - 350z - Bimmers. I've seen e30s snap the NECKS off of 60,000 Vettes. At the end of the day your car is only worth what it's worth to YOU and to people like you who have an affinity for that chassis. My 1st gen hatch is worth about 1k to most people - but you couldn't own mine it for less than $5k AS IT SITS.

If we both go to Road Atlanta, you sign waivers and you are assuming the risk, you know what you are getting into. But i guarantee if i fucked up and hit his car at Road Atlanta he would flip the fuck out, i know i would if i was him. But at Road Atlanta, you are assuming these guys have training, experieince, seat time etc. They just dont let a CRX go full out against V8 muscle cars with no seat time. They also inspect cars, make sure they meet safety requirements, etc.
On the street, all that goes out the window.
I guess my point is that in a sanctioned environment, the driver skill is known before you hit the track, and yes ANYTHING can happen. But i know if im running HPDE 4 Car at RA they have a LOT of street time and instructors have signed off on him being able to drive.

we can't compare track racing or pro racing in this case. If you are doing any sort of racing or untimed track event you can adquierd a track insurance for your race/track car; because you are right shit happens.
But is simple is all numbers and statistics, math doesn't lie....
For example if you are racing me and my tire blows up I think your odds of my recovering from it are higher that if you would've been racing a 21yr old guy that does it only on the streets...
2nd Scenario:
we are racing, we are hitting 120 and there is a patch of water and my tail goes sideway, you have better chances of me keeping the car in my lane and ovoiding a colision. This actually happen To me in I-85, I went sideways so hard that almost hit the wall (iwas on the HOV lane), but furtunetlly enough for me I over drive my road slicks all the time, and go so hot in the turns that pretty much I have to slide thru entry and go WOT at the apex.
