The more you type, the more it shows how stupid you are for even doing the callout in the first place.

Maybe I should callout Clark? I just need to figure out all the crap he needs to do to slow his car down so I can beat him.....then offer to make it for money, as long as he agrees to run his car in a situation where he can only get about 30% of the capability out of it.

You're not trying to setup a fair run, his car is useless on street tires. You also aren't going to convince me, or anyone else with a functional brain, that your 200whp low 2000lb car can only run high 13's@100mph on slicks.
I was there the same night as mike @ commerce. All the stats say his car should be faster than the mid 14s @98mph it ran, but the fact of the matter is, he ran 14.x @ 98mph. That's the only time he's been to the track, but he's had a few CRXs before and knows what he's capable of driving a given car to.

Anyhow, his car is 200whp/22xxlb w/o driver, no nitrous, no tricks. There's nothing shady about his offer. I honestly think he wanted to get smacked out to run just to have some fun and have a chance to talk cars with someone that's got a car known to be fast.

How about mike runs smacked head to head, run what you brung no handicap, no money. Mike will run his car against a faster car, that's not a problem.

Bottom line is before this thread gets locked, they should work out the terms for a run. Aaron, you said go from a dig run what you bring. If Mike says ok, are you down to run?

I will make a comment about what he ran at the track. Maybe he did a 14.1@98mph, but that's not what the car is capable of. On the street, things happen quite a bit differently than at the track. If he was on any kind of street tire (even a drag radial), it's possible he will actually perform BETTER on the street. I can't hook for shit at the track, but seem fairly planted on the street. I know Smacked said he has a hard time getting really good grip on the streets with his slicks, even though they dead hook at the track. Of course, I usually roll race where traction and launch aren't a factor, and you see a closer resemblance to the full capability of the CAR than you do from a dig (where it's more the driver).

My guess is that Smacked would run the equivalent of a mid 12 AT BEST on the street...I'd also be willing to bet the CRX will do a little better on the street than he does at the track, if he's on drag radials (I'm not 100% on this, it's just a guess). I would also guess that going from slicks to normal street tires would literally cost Smacked about 1.5 seconds....and that's if he can actually feather the throttle well enough to have it hook.

Thing is, reducing someone's traction isn't a black/white cripple like say....not spraying NOS or using a pump gas tune over race gas. If someone is at the threshold of traction the whole race, they may use 1% too much throttle the whole time, and never grab traction and just spin and go nowhere. If they use 10% too little, then they'll hook better but be so ridiculously slow. When I was stock, I was racing my friend's Supra just for fun. He had about 630rwhp, over 150 more than I did (and with a FAR smaller gap in weight differences than Smacked and Vteckidd). We raced 4 times to very high speeds. Twice from a roll, twice from a dig. We went from a dig to 175mph. I beat him twice, and he beat me twice. I beat him from a dig one time, because he spun so bad and I got so far ahead, he couldn't even reel me in at 175mph. His car is MUCH faster than mine, but I still beat him because he didn't have tires on the car that night.

The track is what it is. I was running at the track the same night and ran a little slower than mike with a higher trap speed. My car makes the power to run 12s on slicks or maybe DRs, but it doesn't mean shit until I actually go out and do it. In most cases, trophies aren't handed out based on potential, only based on what is actually done.

Mike did have DRs that night. We ran on the street, and I pulled on mike from a roll, but he was faster at the track, so the DRs definitely help him from a dig at the track. We also did dig pulls on the street and he got out of the hole better than I did, but it still wasn't anything crazy.

The bottom line is they should run. Mike will probably run him from a dig head to head if that's all he's willing to do - whatever it takes to get smacked to run him. Win or lose, mike is like me in that he doesn't really care, he just likes to get out & run people.

Mike can get his run in against me on the Southside one night...don't really matter to me what night as long as it is next week. I find it pretty strange he wants to run me so bad when there are plenty of cars on this site between him and I. But anyways, if he is really that anxious....
