GM used the 5.7L V8 for decades. It was always a 350ci motor. But when the LS1 came out, the displacement actually went down to 346ci.....however, it was still called a 5.7L.
My motor is peculiar in that it's the exact opposite. Mine is a 7.0L, which comes out to 428ci. However, since GM was known for its 427 motor, they just CALL the LS7 a 427 (even in the car's literature), even though it actually IS a 428.

... I haven't raced my wifes 96 GT yet but it feels a lot faster then the accord and its just an auto, I just thought the foxbodys were faster then the 94-98's
