I thought torque was more important to topspeed than hp, hence lets say a 10sec gxsr600 only being able to go 150-160mph or so. So when the wind resistance starts adding up @ 100+mph, the car with more torque will prevail, considering the cars have the same drag cf.

has more to do with aerodynamics and gearing.....the gsxr is not very aero....im not sure about the gearing

tq is still there. its just not what makes you faster once you get that speed..the HP your car is making is creating the MPH. the TQ is not a prevalent due to the momentum of the car
