What do you know? Cobras came with a glass IRS rearend. They break all the time at the first sign of wheelhop.
A GT or Mach 1 is a better car to race from a dig.
Throw some DR's on the car and that solves 99% of the wheel hop issues.
Dieselnuts wheel hopped all over the road when he raced me, and it didn't break.
A diff brace is about 1/8th of the cost that he spent on his ported blower, he's got no excuse.
Maybe you should go do some more research on Cobras before making yourself looked more stupid.
I have an IRS brace, but the only thing that protects is the actual pumpkin from exploding... Drag radials help a lot from a roll, but from a dig they are just as bad because they can't hold the instant TQ. Because they have a hard sidewall, the half shafts still take a beating when it hops. Slicks are the way to go because the soft side wall takes the hit. Other than that, all the bushings in the rear end need to be replaced which is a pretty penny but is on my list to do. I am waiting on my friend to finish his shop and get a drill press for that.
