All in all it was a good run.
I got there around 10 and BS'ed with maniac , blackix and the others. Collins was stuck in traffic and it took him a while to get there.
After he got there we lowered the pressure in his MT ET street radials, and I let him go to the spot to get a feel for it and get a test pass so he could try and learn. I didn't do any test runs at the spot tonight as I didn't feel like me practicing and him not would be very fair.
Collins came back, and we got to it. After having to wait for a few cars to pass we did our burnouts.... and lined up. I made sure to wait until the hands fully dropped as I didn't want to be a jumper and off we went. I powershifted second, and ran it out and nailed third as hard as I could. I was looking over my shoulder as I hit third and it actually spun hard into third and I got a little loose. I didn't come into collins lane but I was visibly moving around, I backed out of the gas and got back in it and we passed the finish line. I was up by a good bit until I backed out.... but when we crossed the line I was about a full car ahead. I will post the video as soon as I rip it off my camera. We have about 3 camera angles of the run.
Props to collins for showing up, and props to him for a strong running car.
Good meeting all you guys tonight... and I owe Maniac and Darkstar a run real soon.

I don't think collins would have pulled on me.... I was moving out pretty good and I was actually pulling away from him until I backed out. It wasn't by much at all but he can chime in with what he saw as I didn't have the best vantage point looking over my shoulder. I did have to back completely out of the gas when my car got loose but the race was damn near over at that point.Originally Posted by redrumracer

No time really. The place got real hot real fast. We saw two people on cell phones and a lot of cars passed. One of the guys that was there said he saw a cop....I didn't get a chance to run maniac or darkstar on low boost like I wanted to.
I didn't back up ALL my talk, I told collins I'd drag his ass by two cars and it was only 1 - 1.5

I'd really like to see the launch video as I felt my car spin more than it should have. I left about 3100 rpm.
Collins car just has so much more done to it than mine... my only chance was to get out and hold the lead.

Cold street? Not enough burnout? You never know. I couldn't get them to spin when I tried to lock it down, but it sure spun a bit on the launch.
You claim to have 30 less hp than Collins but you got loose going into 3rd on slicks? I find that extreamly hard to believe. I am making more power than Collins and I have no problems going into third. Given its a different kind of car, but still. I find that something is not accurate to this story...
Well someone started getting a little swervy towards the end of the race so I vote next time we find atleast a road with no fences or buildings surrounding it!

There was 10 witnesses, I was driving, and collins was there to see it also. It wasn't really like getting loose, it was more like I was looking over my shoulder, and when I nailed third it barked and spun enough to make me slightly pull to correct it and the car moved around. That is the only way I can explain it.

run me on slicks, you have an all mighty 03 cobra. I really like those cars but I did lose respect for them after my camaro drug just about everyone one of them down the street it encountered.
I know at least 20 people that will let you borrow some DR's or slicks to run me.
And my car is just an intake / exhaust car.... Collins will CONFIRM that.... if you make more power than Collin's you've already got me covered by at least 34.

I didn't see the type of tires he was running but the larger diameter of say a 28" tall slick would widen his gears (duhh), therefor if he was shifting before you then ....hmmall i know is you were shifting WAY before me every shift. i know you said you didnt have gears, but man i gotta be honest with ya man... i'm not convinced.

An intake/exhaust/tuned goat is still going to get a high 12@108-111ish IIRC on slicks on a good day, Collins car is a good bit faster then that.
anyone mention thacker seemed to be shifting twice as much as collins? gears maybe? maybe thats why he runs 12.4s? opps cats outa the bag.......
a good hwy run would justify all this...and thacker you didnt pull collins except outa the hole IMO, collins got out pretty soft and thats where thacker got his car lead.
that race was won by the launch, I could tell Collins let out of the gas when thacker got squirley because I even mentioned it to rohan who was right next to me during the race. But all in all it was a good race, now bring on the hwy pulls!! Btw derek u and I are going to run too
