d993s pointed out this 350Z to me on Saturday. It turned out I met the guy at Commerce a few weeks ago. IIRC he told me his car made 570+ whp. I asked him about a couple of his runs that night and I remember that his trap speeds were only 110 mph. That is odd for the power he said his car is making.

110mph? Either he really can't drive his set up or the car was not making that power on the strip. He should be deep in the 11's with that power.

well then that is retarded to spend all that money on a high whp setup and not spend a little extra money on some drag radials or other R compund tires. Tell him to look in to the Toyo R888's, they seem to be working well for quite a few high whp 350z's that i know and they come in 19" sizes also. I doubt they make them in 20" though.

Most people get these high boost maps just for bragging rights and very seldom use them after they figure out they can't get traction on the street. If he had lowered the boost some it might have been a slightly closer race since he shouldn't have as much wheel spin. Props to Boki though for a bad ass Audi.

first attempt... boris honked and the 350z owner complained that he could not hear the honks. so boris waved his hand 3 times. his big ass arms and hands could be seen 3 cars back, so im sure the 350z could see it clearly.

just to clarify, it didn't seem as though boris jumped the green. if anything, the 350z spun and so it may seem boris jumped him, when infact, it was a lack of traction on the 350z's part.

Let me clear that up a bit cause it is deceptive. My G made 415whp and trapped 111mph, with the way the G/Z is geared they are NOT top end monsters.. at some point all you do is spin with all that horsepower. I would love to see this race from a 5mph roll which is right where a boosted VQ really takes off but it looks like the guy didnt know how to drive his car anyway.

Boosted VQ's are fast but there is a reason why they get sold months after achieving high hp numbers.. this video is a prime example of that.

People have made it deep in the 11's on the VQ platform with 480whp and slicks. Drag radials have brought out low 11's on less horsepower than what he is running. A 5 mph roll with him driving at this boost level would be nothing but a burnout competition. He was spinning his tires from a roll anyways. With proper tires and a little experience on the driver's part I feel the race would have been much closer. He set himself up for failure it appears.
