formula BMW. nice. did u run in valencia or testing or run in the series? jw

I was a technician for a BMW team in 05 and then lead mechanic for another in 06. that picture is from a test day at VIR in 05, we were done for the day so I wanted a picture to send to my parents since they still have no idea what I do. besides Im too old for that series anyways, but those cars are great all around.

is yours similar to an ITA setup? if so 44s are definitely possible with the R6's.

it is pretty much a ITA car without the diff and an interior. but the interior is around the same weight as a cage and the diff is only needed for T7.

What are you talking about? You drive a girl's car!

One day, when you're driving along and a car full of 14-year-old girls are gawking at your car in amazement you will realize how gay your car is.

Emphasis on 14-year-old girls foaming at the mouth to drive your car once they are able to get their learner's permit. There's a difference.

    Girl's thought process:

"Oooh, a Miata. That's a cute car. I'd consider talking to him but he's probably gay."

"Oooh, a Corvette. That's a nice car. I'd like to drop the panties for that guy!"

All kidding aside, I asked a female co-worker what she thought of this car.

Her reply was, "Queer. Like the guy driving it."

    I'm not even kidding.

You guys should know im not really serious with what i post......haha (except for whats written above this....its very true)

Actually, I'd be open to racing a Miata if that's what I had to work with. But I don't.

And seriously, this is all in fun. I can respect the car for what it is. It's just not my cup of tea.

If your Miata has a stock trans, your max speed is like 120. I was messing around with my friend on 185 once and he was chasing me. He told me his Miata is driving 115 on 6k+ rpm. So if the Z06 cannot left you dust on 4th gear, he is not racing you, assuming he is supposed to go like at least 140+.

Yes power to ratio is important, but your car can only go 120. So you only shorten your 0 to 120 time, but not increasing your top speed.

Stock Miatas are limited to ~120mph by aerodynamics. I have seen my speedo at 135 only to be stopped by hitting fuel cut. That was on my old car with a 4.30 rear end. I later went to a 4.10 and saw the speed-o a bit north of 140. Now a 6-spd miata will go ~155 with the stock 3.9 rear, but if you were to swap that to a 3.62 (and had the power) 160+ is attainable.... not that you'd see it on the speed-o because it stops at 150 lol.

But Miatas are very capable of goign faster then 120. You friends Miata was stock.
