    50mph rolls killed me too but I didn't want to do much higher of a roll to make it seem like I was setting up the race straictly in my favor. I was at 3,000RPMs in 3rd gear and it felt like an eternity getting to my nitrous activation point because at 3,000RPMs I'm nowhere near my ideal powerband. I may have it retuned for the nitrous to come on sooner when I get the new tires. Thinking about getting some 345 MT ET Streets.

    Yep your right... he should just spray off idle then his power would come on a lot stronger. Another thing... it would save him money because he wouldn't need a steeper gear!

    mine is set at 3400.

    Did a couple of pulls up 400 the other day and felt strong the first round but then started acting wacky the second pass.

    My car is throwing TPS codes like crazy causing the car to go into "reducing engine power" mode........F'ing pissing me off.


    Going back to the drawing board yet again to see what my TB TPS issue is.

    Which is why I'm not going to risk shattering my rear end just for a single race. No offense, but I know my car is faster and don't want to risk a $1,600 rear diff build to prove it.

    I'll gladly do a slow roll once my wheels and tires come in if you want.

    Not when your making the power that he is where he makes it at. Do the reasearch on some rod bolts and lots of torq.Not pretty. There is a motor hear in the shop that was similar to danial's its got a big hole in number 7

    Yeah this is just some $hit. Ok quick rundown.

    I "believe" when it was grounding out it shorted out the sensor on the gas pedal as its right there. So I call Chevy and get another pedal assembly thats now in the car. I am pretty sure this fixed the problem but will test tomorrow. If it did its back to the dyno for some more tweaking as I am sure this was a major hiccup in the power output.

    It made XXXrwhp/XXXrwtq with the TPS issues so I am hoping for XXXrwhp/XXXrwtq once its fixed.

    Whats up with the vettes only wanting to run to 120.


    No prob on the dig runs as you guys got some dough and can afford another set of wheels and tires. But if your on the bottle you will be running a good bit over 120 in the 1/4 at the strip so why not run it out.


    I'm on 19" street tires and not a saved for a built rear end so I will stick with the higher roll ons once I can play.

    the reason why im only wanting to run to 120 is becuase i know danials out powers me so i figure if i can get the jump on him he may not be able to catch me to 120 because my car hooks so good. but if we go higher he'll probably catch me lol......and as for digs, what a lot of vette owners dont realize is, its not the power that breaks the IRS its wheel hop. if you can prevent the car from wheel hoping, i.e. drag radials, traction bars, whatever.....then the likey hood of breaking your IRS is slim unless your making some SERIOUS power.

    True to a point. Yeah it might not be the power BUT definately the wheel hop will get you. As Matt stated there is NOTHING that will prevent wheel hop besides not running low speed or dig runs.

    I have read of guys blowing up stage 4 and 5 rear ends due to wheel hop. If you hop, which a vette will at some point, and its just "that" hop you can call a flatbed before you get out.


    Best of luck to you and you are a braver man than me, but I cannot financially take the risk of blowing up a rear end nor a motor.

    "Yay let's run a dig run or a 20 roll and I am gonna SLAM the brakes at 120 cause your gonna bust my a$$."


    It's a vette vs vette race so gearing nor top speed acceleration is the concern. If you know he is faster on top then tweak your setup. Again like I said before these cars will surpass 120mph in the 1/4 so if you take it to the track your gonna get beat.


    I like to get a slight advantage over people I run but saying I hope he spins enough to where I can get to 120 before he does and slam the brakes is just a ricer move to me. That proves nothing NOR makes your car faster than his which is the point of every race.

    Build a car and make it faster than the other person by speed not by default. Being ahead of the other guy while he is up in smoke just means you got better tires BUT your still slower than him in the end.


    If you want to see who hooks better go to the track, if you want to see who is "faster" go from a good roll.

    if your racing at the track and the other guy blow his tires off through 3rd gear, then he may make more power than you but you are still "faster" for the fact that your car hooks and his doesnt.

    i'm with you bro! i've never had wheel hop issues and i've made over 50+ passes in my z. i dont think daniel has ever had a issue either that i know of. he didnt the day we were at the track not saying that some dont but in my experience i havent. i know i'll blow a rear sooner or later but no more than someone running juice. and my z runs 11.9 to 12.2 so it's decently powered with 1.9 60's.
