We can always count on you to do some theoretical calculator racing I guess by your bench-racing theory, it would take 1225 whp in a 3500# car to outrun a bike like a gsxr-1000. In reality, we all know it really only takes around 750.
I realize Im not talking apples to apples with that, but the point is that theory doesnt always hold true on the street.

this got started when Slowhawk posted his mph on real street tires...not drs..et streets etc. Aint NO mustang trapping 120+ in the 1/8 on a real street tire.

Conrad, when you gonna take that thing to the track? I will be there on my 3rd combo before you go once with yours....we need to hit steele soon

Jerry you were there when I ran 123 on real street tires. I don't think people undertsand how fast 123MPH is in the 1/8th is when they claim it. Everyone just throws these track times out there like its nothing. If I'm not mistaken everyone says how fast your car is ,but I know your car was not anywhere near 123MPH in the 1/8th and you were still running 9's with slicks and skinnies

123 in the 1/8th is insane for any street car. Thats a mid 5 sec 1/8th mile pass and a mid-high 8 sec 1/4 mile at 170-ish mph. No one on the board runs that most likely, except maybe "Joe..." And thats probably a stretch.
And NO ONE is doing that on street tires. Period.

so high-mid 5's is about right for 1/8th. Cars will vary some obviously.

    Anything else enlightening?

Chris DOES know how fast 123 in the 1/8 is....I think he is just having fun unles his wife really stepped it up.....which is possible but on a tire.

Matt, best the Incons ever did was 112 in the 1/8. This one may do 112.5

123 in the 1/8th on street tires would be... dangerous.

I do know someone selling a car that can go 123mph on slicks locally tho Hit me up if anybody is interested.

    Peace,
    Josh

You didn't see my car run this weekend but you did see the wife make a few passes. Our 17 yr old daughter made 2 passes in the Gray coupe before blowing a tranny line, her best to date on a 75 shot is a 10.61 and our son ran the wife's car on motor 2 passes just so he could go down the track (no times mentioned). We are holding the kid's in the 10's until they get a little more seat time but both of their cars are easily capable of 9's.

If you saw the only nitrous pass that my wife made I would prefer you not to post that video since everyone thinks a street car can't trap 123 in the 1/8th and again I specified radial tires before someone tries to change my words around like usual.

Oh and F.Y.I. that was only the first kit with a lil 100 shot. My car is
a good bit faster with radial tires with tag, insurance and I can drive it anywhere just as well.

Why the hell didn't you come up and say hey? I don't think we have ever been on bad terms have we?

I wasn't trying to be a dick about it I was only commenting but SlowHawk has always been an azz to me on here for some reason. Anyone that knows us knows that we are not really competitive but just like to have fun and will help anyone that we can.

We do not run a shop but own an Exterminating Company and that's where the nick "BUGMAN" comes from. However we have a fairly adequate hobby shop out here that we play in with the cars.

Your right man, I have never been to a track before but one day I will go and see how fast that really is.

Bugman - I didn't come up and say hey because mainly I had to attend to my pregnant wife. I also hurt my leg pretty bad and my leg was getting pretty sore after walking around. I have a nasty bruise on it now, no exaggeration... it's the size of a football!

I'll be up there again, I liked the track a lot. It was my first time there.

Why not post the video? It was decent runs? I have some of the blue car. They annouced "Bugman" when the car was in the burn out box?? I assumed it was you...

Sorry to hear about your leg man I didn't know or we would have come over to where you guys were.

Carolina is our favorite track hands down.

The announcer is pretty cool and just about always has something to say when our cars are in the box but is was either my wife or my son in the car just not sure which one. He usually says Bugmans wife, son or daughter or he may have just been ragging on me.

The passes were great to be honest and I have an awesome video of the only nitrous pass that she ran from the launch pad if you care to see it. Just don't care to hear people on here ragging my wife or kid's and I know that's what will happen no matter how good the pass is someone will have something rude or stupid to say about it.

Maybe next time we can hang out a bit and congrats on the new baby!

Thanks, I can't wait 'til he gets here. Not to long, maybe a month? I wish my wife would race! I think it's cool that your family races and all... My dad is looking for coupe ready to roll... he's a BB Chevy guy looking to step over to the dark side. I'd like to see the video, if you want you can just PM me the link. We were at the very end of the pits, closest to the slip booth.

Thanks man we have a ton of fun and I am also very thankful that my wife and kid's are into it as much as they are, makes it really easy for me to get permission to go to the track.

We mostly run the 275/50/15 MT/Street Radial and I have had a best 60ft of a 1.31 on 11 lbs. of tire pressure before the burnout. That's on a 8 inch rim and stock suspension. The wife's car is a little too much for a 26 inch tire so we are stepping it up to the 275/60/15 which is a 28 inch tire and still on a 15x8 wheel.

    You have a PM.
