    Default Want to upgrade graphics!

Ok, I Currently have a HP p6310y and it came with the integrated Nvidia GeForce 9100 chip and I'm looking to upgrade to a better graphics card but I'm not sure what would/would not work with my computer & dont want to spend $100-200 on a graphics card that wont work with my computer. So I wanna know what would be a good upgrade for me? I'd really like something as good as a Nvidia GT9800 because I love PC gaming lol. Anyways my system specs are HERE. Just scroll down and click SHOW next to SPECIFICATIONS.

Thanks in advance and reps to anyone who can help me!

Any PCIE card will do. Just make sure to get something that does not require a lot of power... like a 7 series card or ati equiv, as you are only using a 300w psu. 9800 recommends a 400w+ psu

Me personally, I have an MSI 7800 GTx I got off eBay for $30.00 and I'm currently using it in my backup PC on a shitty stock PSU. Runs WoW, TF2, CSS just fine maxed out

Looks like you have a 300 watt PSU. Go to Newegg link below see what fits a 300W PSU. I plugged in your specs and it looks HP just about maxed out your PSU @ around 284W. Go to the link below and click on the video card you would like to own and it will tell you approx what PSU you'll need to get to support it. I recommend getting a PSU just a little stronger than required. Play around with it and let us know.....

Well it says for 300w. The question is will it work given your setup. Did you try the app link i gave you?

You would be pushing it with that 240. I would try to get a video card that has a 200w requirement. Alternatively, you can get a good PSU which would open up a lot of possibilities for you

I'd say go for a lower spec card. Your maxing it out, lol. If your a risk taker go for it. Personally i would go with something with headroom left. If your like me you just want it to work no questions asked, go for something with some head room. My old PC and new one does just that, works 99.99% percent of the time.

Looks like your pretty limited with the 300w PSU you have.

Look for these chipsets - GeForce 210, ATI Radeon 4350, Ati radeon 4550. There maybe more chipsets. Here is an example of a Geforce 210 -

Really upto you if you want to run a maxed out 300w config or a lower consumption setup and have some headroom. http://www.newegg.com/product/Catego...eId=199#topic4.

Just as a side note I was running dual 9800GT's on an Intel DP45SG board (with dual VGA card compatibility), and the drivers currently out don't work worth a crap with Windows 7. It's absolutely terrible.
