    Default DSL Download Speed. What are yours?

    I'm currently using DSL Extreme and have been using it for quite sometime now.

    I FUCKEN HATE THIS THING.

    When I speed test my download rate, I only get 2 Mbps.

    For all you cable folks, what do you get?

    Please provide with download & upload speed & who your ISP is.

    Where you stay by? I work for Clear, it might be better then you dsl right now.
    Honda are popular for a reason. There might be faster car out there, but none as consistent.

    Bellsouth dsl extreme 6.0 up to 6 but i get around 3.5-5mbps

    and yeah, Bellsouth fuckin sucks. I got rid of it pretty quickly. It had a problem with slowing down daily to about 0.7mbs if it wasnt slow enough already

    we have the 5mpbs charter. Downloads go around 650kb per second. It works good enough for me. its cable though, had bell south before and it was awful.

    I think its funny so many people who live in Atlanta area have shitty dsl. Ive got 3mb in the middle of the freakin woods and i get nearly 400k/sec downloads. Not great compared to cable or fiber but i live 70 miles from civilization

    I have DSL Extreme but live a long way from the substation. Their limit for service is 18K', and I am at 17K'+. I still see 4.2Mb all the time on the old copper telephone lines running into the house (not Cat5).

    Question for the Comcast users: IF you download 24/7/365, have you gotten any warnings that you download too much from Comcast? I've heard some people get those, so I have stayed with DSL. I would consider changing if I wouldn't get cut off for using too much bandwidth.

    Apartment complex with only one choice of service provider. It is consistent and never drops even in peak hours. I only pay for a 3mb down .5 mb up so i guess its correct

    DSL elite.

    Its what I pay for. Besides depending on where you live and the infrastructure etc, dsl is better for some, cable for others. Altho im about to switch to U-Verse and see how that goes.
