    Default My NEW Project Car

yea i just bought my new project car today and i'm excited to work on it as soon i can.
i just took some random pics of the car today and ...i love the rain.
maybe some fellow ae86 owners would like to give some tuning/driving tips for future reference.

Very nice dude. If I didnt get the 300zx, I would have looked for an AE86 myself.

the car is an sr5 right? If so do the 4age swap or the 20 valve. If you want

more extreme ive seen the 3s-gte or even the sr20 if want that much power.

Hey ive also seen a 13b. That be weird but cool. nice find and good luck

    with it.

for now i'm gonna fix minor stuff like the cracked windshield and missing passenger mirror. for christmas i'm thinking about buying a tom's 3-spoke steering wheel and maybe some pedals. in the future, i'm planning on installing some chassis stiffening parts, coilovers, brakes, 20 valve 4age, itb's, headers, street-spec exhaust, cams, along with an lsd, because this gt-s didn't come with one

yeah it was in the for sale thread on here. i kinda gave up on an eg hatch because everyone was asking so much for them. oh well, i rather have this car anyway.
thank you all for the positive feedback. i'll keep everyone posted on my mods and hopefully i'll be able to see some ia faces at future dg trials and scca events.

yea i just signed up as a member today. i looked at the technical threads and proved pretty helpful. just wish the people who are selling parts lived close. too bad most of them live in california. thank you, it is truly a blast to own this car for i also have been looking for one of these for close to a year. i hope that you find one eventually.

i just put in my personal grinta 350mm steering wheel and trd pedal covers, but my horn button doesn't fit. another reason to get a trd one.

If it doesn't have LSD it's not a GTS.

    I had an '86 GT-S hatcback.

    4AGE motor, LSD, "better" suspension.

If it just has the motor, then it was an SR5 swap.

What's the title say? Should say "GTS" in it I believe.

It's been so long since I had mine, I coulda sworn it said GTS on my insurance or on the title or something.

    VIN will tell you.

A little too Initial D-ish for me, but it's cool. Hachi's are fun. Drifting is easy...just hold your foot to the floor...literally.

My old FC and my current FD....nooooooooooot quite so easy. >___>

The guy who I bought the car from said the LSD for gt-s were optional? I don't know how credible that statement is, but I took his word for it.

As for the title it says, model: corolla sport, and both the sr5 and gt-s is corolla sport right?

Well, if it turns out that it is an sr5, I'll just do some gt-s conversions on it. It already has the motor and rear disc brakes, so I probably won't have to do too much to convert it.

And yes, it is a little bit too Initial D-like, but I like the "panda" color scheme. Who doesn't wanna be like Takumi? lol

All that matters is that I have my project car and that it's fun to drive, light and fun to work on.
