    Default Journey to Stanced |CB9|

    Hey IA,
I'm Gene(some call me Joe) I've been a member on here since '08 when i had a mustang, but i haven't used my account since. I'm really big on "Stanced" cars, so i decided to buy this CB chassis to work on. The parts and mods are vast to do what i have planned... so that being said here you go. Enjoy..

Sorry for the phone piks.. No dig cam..
(the night i bought it. we celebrated at Popeye's :rofl)

drove to buy these(SPW, waiting on the KYB agx shox):

Couldn't wait for the shox, so i did this for a local accord/lude meet:

i took a few of these:

There was a huge miss alignment with the head lights. So, i attempted to straighten it.

it's straighter, but the inner portion is still titled. I'll address that soon.

I picked up some new wheels from my local CL. They aren't as aggressive as i anticipated, but they fit really good. All i can say until i get my new tires, is that they aren't something you probably use to seeing.

Well that if for nao. ill posted pictures when i adjust the coilovers.

    2.23.12
No updates really, but i lowered it some more. The rear is max'd out without adjusting preload and front has about 1.75" left. the pictures really show how much i have to do!!

Gloss. I can't see an older wagon with matte paint. I may be wrong and it may turn out great but for now I can't see it. Once I swap shells, I am having it painted North Shore Blue Pearl from the CRZ, in case that color catches your eye.

I'm thinking gloss. You've got enough different stuff going on already. Matte paint would be too much imho.

    Default Update IA!!

Well i've made a good progress since the last update. Yesterday, Jake(Yogi_Bear), my lil brother, girlfriend and I tackled the front end alignment again

    Before:

    Untitled by SwCB9, on Flicker
We made a JY trip to obtain a new headlight bezel and a bumper bracket; aside from a few other misc. things to aggravate you on a daily basis(door charm sensor, ashtray assembly, etc).
because the corner light bracket snapped

    Untitled by SwCB9, on Flickr
    bent bumper bracket

    Untitled by SwCB9, on Flickr
I'm so dumb i forgot to take pictures of the whole process. So, all i have is the assembled piece(not installed on the car)

    Untitled by SwCB9, on Flickr
(i realize the light is broken. so, i need to pick another one)

    Untitled by SwCB9, on Flickr
Jake, Eric and I had so much fun fitting the bumper over a half dozen times:shifty The final product. It still needs to be tweak a little, but i'm happy for now

    Untitled by SwCB9, on Flickr
o btw i got another hood haha

    Untitled by SwCB9, on Flickr

    Untitled by SwCB9, on Flickr
Jake and Eric doing what they do best: Looking pretty :rofl

    Untitled by SwCB9, on Flickr

So, i know you guys are super pissed because i still don't have the rear hubs and wheel on, but it's still my main priority. I've bought the knuckles and everything to install them. Just was waiting until Tuesday to buy tires

    Untitled by SwCB9, on Flickr
HellaDurty (the patch is the spot I sanded to see the condition of the rotors)

    Untitled by SwCB9, on Flickr
These would have been installed this Tuesday or wednesday, but the Low Lifestyle has its dividends

This happened today on my way back from church. Heading to Khols. There was a unfinished portion of the road and the city bolted down a steel plate to cover it. Needless to say, the rain and the placement of the repair was Perfect!!! :mad
Trans case vs Steel plate =

    Untitled by SwCB9, on Flickr
Long story short i will be performing a 5 speed swap this Tuesday and Wednesday

i'm upset you're doing all these other mods and the 5 spd lug conversion isnt being done, other than that..good progress, except the steel plate fiasco. FINISH THAT 5 LUG CONVERSION

Yea, but the 5 speed swap wasn't in the near future, the 5 lug was, but i cracked my trans case yday. So, the lug conversion became second to putting the car back on the road ASAP. The door cards was being done only to occupy my urge until i had enough BANK for the tires ( doors card mod 12.00) Plus, it took me a while to find the rear 5 lug conversion for a decent price other than the ridiculous 300+ ppl most wanted. I'm trying bro, i promise no other project will be next other than getting the wheels on.. I hate looking at only two wheels

Yeah, I have F&Ft2's 12/8k and they're too soft on full stiff. But im super low too lol. I think my fender to ground measured 21 1/4 or 1/8 one of them and that's without me or my gf in it

    SMALL UPDATE
Trans mount bracket (weld-on) was ordered this morning. If, they requested the right part, i should have it by Thursday (fingers crossed). Thursday, i will be picking up my rear spindles to complete my 5 lug conversion.

If the weather holds off until late Friday, i can have the rear five lug complete. Saturday morning i will get started on the rest of my trans install.

Does anyone know a place or website where i can order an 8 ft Stainless Steel(SS) brake line with 10mm male and 12mm male screw-in fitting?

Best place to order those lines would be Summit Racing.

This the only photo of before i cut the bracket off

    after cutting it off

grinded down and ready for custom brackets :bouncy:

some savvy cutting w/ a skillsaw combo

The bracket cut out, before i tapped the holes with a Titanium step bit

    for thickness sake

(p.s 4 lug wheels makes a good stand for the car haha)
Sorry i didn't take any pix of it welded on.. I ran into so many problems with other stuff. i stop taking pix:shrug:
